So I have a little more than 9 months left til my wedding, I’ve got all my big stuff planned but now just got the smaller stuff to go. I got to thinking, I know my MOH is gonna be right next to me, but how did you all line up the rest of your girls / guys?
I have bridesmaids that are all over the place in height. And I’m close to all my girls, so I feel bad choosing “so-and-so” as the last bridemaid or whatnot.

Toughy! You could do family first, height, or alphabetical. I know what you mean about choosing one over the other.

@ladyartichoke: My MOH is my sister. And then I have my cousin (who is like my best friend), 2 of my best friends and my future sister in law. I would have to say I’m least close to my FSIL. But I just don’t know how to position the other three =/

I chose them by how close I was to them (though with only 2 BMs, that was easy). If you’re not sure who’s closest, I suggest going by how long you’ve known them.

I let my fiance decide what line up he wanted the guys in – that’s how we decide. I have friends who will take offence to where they are in line (petty I know) so I took the choice off of me

@cupcakebride2013: This isn’t a dumb question … It’s actually something I’ve been thinking about as well! Haha.
I only have 3 in my bridal party, so it might be a little easier. I’m thinking I’ll have my maid of honor (actually a man of honor, as it is my male best friend) right next to me, then my friend (she and I have been friends since first grade), and my cousin last. I’m really close to my cousin as well (and will actually be a bridesmaid in her wedding 2 months before my own), but for some reason that’s how I picture the lineup. I think this may also work well, though, because they’d be in height order (tallest being my man of honor, shortest being my cousin) … It may just look a little nicer in pictures.
This is really tough for me as well because I feel very close to all 3 and wish they could all stand right beside me!

I like the how long you’ve known them suggestion

I struggled with this a bit too but eventually just decided to go by height with the other 4 girls(besides 2 MOHs).

I didn’t even think about this. However I wish my photographers would have put them by height. But if you look at the line up, it’s literally in the order I asked them in.

Thanks ladies for the suggestions.
well these are the hights (without heels) and no order
MOH – 5’6
BM1 – 5’2
BM2 – 5’5
BM3 – 5’9
BM4 – 5’7

Wow what a height difference! I would go MOH, then BMS 1, 2,
4, and 3 or go for a ‘bell curve” shape and go 3, 4, 2, and 1. How tall are thou? I would just avoid putting the tallest right next to the shortest, esp if they are all wearing the same height of heels

I’m 5’7″, but with heels on i’m like 5’10”.

I acted like mine was by how long I’d known them because I didn’t want to hurt any feelings…but luckily for me, how long I’d known them perfectly corresponded with how close we were. But really, you don’t have to give an explanation, just tell them what order to line up in.

How long you’ve known them sounds fabulous!
I would also consider alpha.. there shouldn’t be anyone feeling bad about an alphabetical lineup.
