I don't know about what's "in," but I had coral nails at my wedding. And gold glittery toenails.
'American' manicures have been around for a long time now, and honestly unless I'm looking at one side-by-side with a French mani I can't even tell the difference in color.
I think you should go with whatever will make *you* feel most comfortable, whatever the color is.
I'm considering either a French manicure or a shade of very very light pastel pink. I've seen plenty of nudes as well.
I think for my nails it will end up depending on what our colors end up being. I'd love to have classic red nails but I don't know how well that would look in a navy and plum setting. If that's the way we go I'll probably do pink or french tips if I can grow my nails out long enough.
What's an American manicure ? Can you post pics please ?
According to this, American manicures have a more natural colored tip, whereas French manicures have a bright white tip

@dominicanbride16: Nude or pink nails with glitter ombre/gradient.

(Not my pictures; found these on Google.)
I've seen a lot of lace designs for nails on pinterest lately too (sorry for the large pic!)

I have no idea what's "in", but I still see french manicures everywhere so I don't really think they're old news.
For my nails I wore a peachy pink and had glitter on top. The glitter was all over though, not that cool gradiant style that @somethingaquamarine posted.
I'll be using my usual light pink color, only I'll get it professionally done.
I don't know what's 'in' but I don't usually get my nails done and will be going for a nude/light pinkish natural color for my wedding. French used to be in, but I agree it is kinda old news too...just my opinion, but I do still usually wear french when I have to have my nails done for work...but just because I use the glue ons and take them off asap haha
I think nude and glitter is in right now, which does look really pretty. Honestly, get what makes you feel the most like yourself.
I used bright pink nail polish, because that's so me! I love bright colors!
@somethingaquamarine: Ooh, very pretty! Love the last picture, I think I'll do my nails like that! Yay, I was gonna leave the decision on what to do to my nails for later, but now I can cross that off my to-do list :)
i love bright colors, but i chose a very pale pink color for my wedding. my hair is pink and blue, so i decided to keep my nails neutral. but my toes were turquoise.
@fzesguer: The last one is my favorite too! Very feminine and the most bridal of the three. Glad I could help!
I went with a nudey pink- Essie Topless and Barefoot. I've never been a fan of French manicures- I think they look dated and not very natural.
I had a very pale pink glittery gel manicure for my wedding. I don't like the look of French or American manicures, personally, plus my nails are always too short for them because I'm uncomfortable with long nails, so they don't look good on me. I liked my nails- they were fun without sticking out too much.
I'm probably going to do something fun. My salon has two kinds of gel polish and a ton of glitter, so I'll pick something crazy, haha.
I am going to do something fun as well....maybe bright red nails, dark purple nails or glittery nails. It is much more than a french mani or a nude colour.
i say do whatever you like best, not whats "in" because fads always leave and come back :) For myself i will be having bright nails :)
I am one to try new trends with my nails, but my favorite oldies but goodies are nude nails or sheer pink nails. For my wedding, I had a ballet light pink.

I don't get many manicures these days but when I did I would do the french manicure but heard that is old news!
What's this I hear about the American Manicure? A more natural take on the french manicure?
