This may not be the best advice for you if you were looking for a choreographed thing or something, but at our wedding, we invited the bridal party to join us for the last half of our first dance together instead of making up something separate. I hope that helps! Good luck!
We are not planning on having a bridal party dance. At the weddings I've been to, there hasn't been a bridal party dance. I think it gets to be too much with all the "special" dances (first dance, mother/son dance, father/daughter dance, bridal party dance). I think my guests would get bored after sitting there and watching all that! But, if you want to have one, then I would do a fun, upbeat dance. Gets rid of some of the awkwardness and your guests won't be as bored watching a fun dance.
I voted for "that's just awkward" because we didn't have one of these. There was only one wedding I went to that had one and as a guest who had to sit on the side as my hubby (then bf) had to dance with the bride's sister was just weird to me. They also did a slow song and you can see in my hubs face that he didn't really want to do this. He told me after he wished he could have danced with me.
I think if you go ahead and do it, why not make it an upbeat song. It would probably kill the awkwarness between the party, especially if some of them don't know each other or their partner was on the sidelines watching this.
now i'm pictuing my wedding party dancing together...and it's awkward! would it be really terrible to do it for humors sake for my FI and I? :p

I'm having a difficult time picking a song for the bridal party to dance to. I'm not sure if it would be better to have something sweet before we really get down to the dancing or to eliminate the awkwardness of some of the party not knowing others and doing something more upbeat.
What's your take?
