So I wasn’t all into the bridal portrait idea, I thought I would just save money and do a few the day of the wedding. But my parents insisted and I can’t complain because now I get to wear my dress not 1 day, but 2 days 🙂 My session is scheduled for next weekend! I’ve booked my hair and make up appointments and I’m visiting a few places this weekend to figure out where we will do the shoot.
My question is what about flowers? Do I need to call a florist ASAP to put something together for me so I’m not flowerless?
How many of you got bridal portraits done? Was it worth it? What did you do about flowers??
Thank ladies, Amy

Im bumping this topic becuase I am curious too. We have talked about doing a day after shoot (which would actually be a ‘several weeks later” shoot and I love the idea but he is not so in to it. I think it would be fun and the photographer only charges 100 so it would be nice to get a picture taken for our thank you cards or something then.

Im debating taking them before or after the wedding but I do want the extra photo time because Ive had friends complain about not having enough portrait style photos to choose from. I want to do it afterwards because he does not want to see me before the wedding at all, but mom wants them before so she can get her traditional huge portrait of just me and display it at the wedding. Im a few months out so any married bees advice would be amazing!

Do it! I thought these were unnecessary since I would have plenty of time on my wedding day. The photographer was late, we were rushed and I do not have one decent picture of my dress, shoes, etc. If I hadn’t liked my bridal portraits, I could have fixed that on my wedding day. I totally regret not doing these.

I don’t have much remorse for not doing bridal portraits. If you just make sure that your photographer has plenty of time to take photos of you before your ceremony, you should have plenty!
