I like #1 and #3 - although I like 3 better because 1 might be a too sexy (depends on what you're going for here).
I like 4 but you might be a little squinty, also 6 is nice but for some reason that globe lamp is kind of distracting - might be awesome cropped
I love the way Camrie cropped #6. If it is added, I'd say that one for sure.
@ Camrie: I agree I'm a little squinty in 4. I LOVE 6 because it looks so dramatic, but my hand is between the couch cushions and it looks like I'm missing a hand lol. Did you notice that at all?
Yeah I actually did notice it once I cropped it. My mom is a photographer so we always would notice crazy stuff like plants that looked they they were coming out of peoples heads or "missing" limbs.
You have a ton of great pics to choose from though!
Oh my, these are all so beautiful! You look amazing. I love them all, but 1, 5, and 6 are especially great to me. I love your facial expression and how the beauty of the details of your dress is captured in 1, plus I love the color of the bouquet, but 6 is so dramatic, elegant, and gorgeous. 5 is kind of the middle ground between 1 and 6 to me--you can see your pretty face and it has character like it #1, but the long, flowing dress of #6 is there too. I like camrie's crop suggestion! The hand thing doesn't bother me.
I don't know, tough call! Any would be great, I don't think you can really go wrong with any of them.

1 is my favorite. Just wondering if the groom will get a portrait displayed of himself too? Might look kind of funny just having a big picture of only you displayed.
I'm a little confused - I'm not from the south - what is this tradition? I see you haven't had your wedding yet, but I love hearing about wedding traditions from other parts of the country! You look amazing in all of them!
Gorgeous! I voted for #5 for your wedding since it's "classic"- shows off you and your dress, but if you have a hip, modern crowd, definitely #1- it's stunning!
Bridal portraits are formal portraits of the bride in her dress done prior to the wedding. Traditionally one picture is enlarged and displayed at the wedding reception entrance near the guest book. Often one of these pictures will accompany any announcement of the wedding that is placed in the local newspaper. These pictures do not include the groom or any of the wedding party. They are just about the bride! And a lot of people especially in older generations tend to think it is not appropriate to have the groom in the picture for the wedding announcement.
as southerners - we do the bridal portrait, but in our circle of friends we also do a grooms portrait to be used in the reception hall for display along side the bridal portrait, its cute :)
i LOVE the first one, but traditionally you pick the one that either shows off the dress or shows off the face. either way though i love the first one.

I like #5 and #6 because they show your dress of beautifully, and your back isn't turned so we can still see your face.
I clicked number 6 by mistake, but I thin yous should go with pic 1!

@veganglam - the same reason that brides' parents traditionally pay for the wedding - this is all stuff done to "present their daughter" to the world into society. hence the bridal picture, the wedding, etc. kinda like a grownup cotillion :)
@ Mrs.T: I got the shoes from zappos. They are Kate Spade Clarice, hot pink, but I like them because I will be able to wear them a lot more than I would with ivory shoes. They were very expensive though, I had to make them part of the budget
@ spaganya: that is a cute idea! Although I don't think my groom would go for that, he doesn't want to dress up when it's not absolutely necessary lol
@ veganglam: I really don't know the rationale behind it or where it came from, other bees have explained where it came from though. I just do what my mamma tells me :)
I love the lighting in #1, it is soft and natural, you look lovely in them all though.
That is such a cool tradition. I wish we did it up north ( I'm a sucker for any reason to dress up and get pictures done :) Beautiful pictures!! I like 1 & 4 because they show your face and dress off.

Hey Bees, I wanted to share a few of my bridal portraits with you. I'm pretty sure bridal portraits are a "Southern" thing but I'm still glad I have them. Let me know which one you think should be displayed at the wedding :)
