So I was married 6 weeks ago and the day & week leading up to it was crazy and hectic and I didn’t give my photogs the shot list that I wanted to and I was just thinking about it and I don’t think I got the kind of bridal portraits I wanted…
I know my day has passed but I wanted a shot of my dyed crinoline, good ones of my brooch bouquet, the garter shot of me in my robe, nices ones of my shoes & crinoline, I mean the detail shots and of me in this time in my life and my hubs and just our relaxed type look… we were SO tired on the big day that Darling Husband was kinda grumpy about taking the photos & I’m terrified we won’t like any of them!
I don’t have my photos back yet but I can’t remember taking these kinds of pictures so I’m afraid I don’t have them to show my children & etc and I REALLY wanted to… things were just so crazy and behind schedule that I didn’t get the chance to ask for them!
I was thinking about it and I have been seeing all kinds of photo shoot groupons & deals so I thought about maybe buying one and having another bridal shoot for just me and MAYBE involving my Darling Husband as well… like just do my hair and make up again and get lots of photos of me and my gown in the poses I wanted and then us too around our venue & the harbor but obviously more rested and less hectic… I guess a more intimiate shoot with less “big day” pressure.
Did any of you have SEPARATE photo shoots in your bridal ensembles with or without your guy? How did it go? Did you like the photos better or get to re-do any of the shots you missed? Am I kinda crazy and over-the-top for wanting this?
I could just have jitters because we don’t have our photos yet and I know it will not have been our REAL big day but I think I’d enjoy the less-stressed shoot more & Darling Husband might too…
Let me know your thoughts beez!

This is my backup plan in case the weather is crappy on our day and we don’t get any nice outdoor shots. Go for it if you will miss those pictures!

I’m a winter bride this is my plan if the weather sucks; aka for us no snow!

@Pinkmoon: @mishagirls79: lol right?! That’s the other thing… it was SO HOT on our day that I was like sweating in all my bridal gear and so was Fiance which made him even more crabby and I am just so anxious they came out annoyed or kinda icky looking that I want to do them again in the winter! haha
I own my gown and all my accessories and did my own make up so it would just be getting my hair done and then Darling Husband owns all his stuff as well so I really feel like it would be a beautiful thing… I haven’t asked him yet (cuz he’ll probably tell me I’m just crazy and a worry-wart and to just be patient for our photos… typical guy! lol) but I really am thinking its the answer to all my possible photo-regrets.
I think it would be cool as well to have a lot of just us!
Thanks for your votes!

You should wait and see what you get from your photographer, but I think with the Groupon deals you should just do what you want!
For my e-shoot I got my hair, nails, and tan done on groupon deals. I am a little obsessed. I have already bought deals for canvas prints and a photobook and I have not gotten the photos back yet.
Life is short! If you want more photos get more photos 🙂 Especially because this is such a special time in your life and why not ride it out as long as possible. You’re still a bride! Put back on the dress! I have a feeling after I get married my husband will come home to find me randomly back in my dress. haha

@Carley7.6.13: LOL girrrrrl you and me both! I get like 4 groupons (from the greater so cal area and las vegas!) as well as the living social deals from the same areas and my local newspaper and a few other outlets too. I get like 15+ emails a day of just “deals” waiting for that amazing one to catch and snatch up!
I printed all our paper goods with Vistaprint groupons, got a HUGE canvas print of our fav ephoto for the welcome display at the wedding, got our photobooth rental and DIYed a photobook into our guestbook all with groupons/livingsocial deals, etc…. I am UBER OBSESSED! haha
That’s why I think its a cool idea too… its not super costly and it takes the regret off my plate!
I literally LOL’d at your comment of your hubs finding you back in your dress! I LOVE THE IDEA! …okay I’m gaining momentum here, thanks for making me feel better about wanting to be the less stressed/frazzled/tired bridal version of myself! lol

I would wait and see what you get from your photographer. I remember thinking after our e-shoot that we didn’t get any detail shots of my ring, FI’s trademark argyle socks, etc., but our photographer had taken both of those shots (and more!) without us realizing.
We had originally scheduled a post-wedding shoot, but ended up cancelling it while on our honeymoon because it started to feel like a hassle and our photographer assured us she got plenty of portraits on our wedding day. She offered us the option of doing a one-year anniversary session instead, and we gratefully accepted. Maybe that would be a good option for you to get more pics with your new DH?

Not married, yet but would definitely do a bridal shoot of me and my hubby so that we had better pictures of the things we wanted. I imagine the wedding day doesn’t permit the time to get all of those perfect shots and you were probably so stressed. Do it, girl. It’s better than regretting not doing it later.

We didn’t do a separate shoot, and got TONS of pictures of the two of us, and a couple of just me (the weather was nice.) Worked great for us!
ETA: the timing is what makes a big difference- we had about 3 hours after the ceremony

I think all of the multitude of pictures involved in weddings is kind of self absorbed BUT I’m totally on board haha. I think when we’re all old we will be happy to have so many wonderful pictures of such a happy time in our lives. I say go for it and enjoy yourself as long as you can afford it (which it obviously sounds like you can)!

@BlondeMissMolly: haha, yes it is TOTALLY self-absorbed… but fun! and when else in our lives are we going to be such the center of attention? probably never, haha…

@KimmySumShuga: I might have found someone as obsessed with deals as me!! I can ALWAYS find a deal for what I want. I am a Groupon VIP so I can get deals that expired for most people- if you haven’t looked into this I highly reccomend it. When I tell people I am a Groupon VIP they laugh because they think I am making this up and joking. Nope, I am really that into it. Lifebooker is also a great site for beauty related deals.
