Alright bees, help me out here – I am scheduled to do my Bridal Shoot 2 days before the wedding (because I forgot about it and didn’t set aside time for it), but now I’m starting to get anxiety about messing up my dress so soon before the wedding. I can’t have it earlier because I won’t get the dress until the 12th, and that’s when my time is really going to start getting tight, and the photographer will be out of state for a week before my wedding (getting back the Wednesday before.)
As for after the wedding, I dont’ know if it’s even appropriate to do this after, but maybe I could get my FI (DH by then!!!!) in the bridal shoot if we did it after. We will be gone for 2 weeks, then its back to work immediately for FI, and our photographer lives in my home town, about 3 hours away so it wouldn’t be a JOY to schedule, but possible.
Where is the qustion in that? Okay, have any of you done your bridal shoots before the wedding? Did it mess up your dress/did you have a bad experience? I’ve heard doing the shoot before the wedding is good because then you can get your hair/makeup done how it will be for the big day and have the opportunity to change anything you don’t like.
What about doing it after? The cost is included in my photography package, since I got my engagements with a different photographer (who didn’t pan out).

I don’t know anything about this, but the one wedding I attended, the bride did her shoot just before the ceremony started.

Plus of doing it on a day before the wedding is trying out your entire look, making sure the makeup photographs well, etc.
Plus of doing it after is that if there were any photos you really wanted the day of but ended up not getting, you can re-create them.
I think both are good options!

@strawbs: We are going to be taking pictures on the day of, but my photographer is doing a separate shoot of just bridal pictures on a different day. It doesn’t make a TON of sense to me, either, because it just stresses me out more (like I need that lol) but its a pretty common thing where I live to get the two separate photo sessions in your dress – the wedding and the bridal shoot.

@Mrs.C.to.bee: We scheduled a “day after” photo shoot (to get additional portraits of the two of us) for two weeks after our wedding and two days after we get back from our honeymoon. Now I have a thread going about honeymoon weight gain and am terrified I’ll be too bloated to fit back into the dress! Just something to think about.

@Mrs.C.to.bee: my bridal and wedding shoot was after the wedding itself, because I had a DW and seriously, nothing beat on-location at that point. I guess it’s really up to you 🙂
