Second Empire. NoFo. carolina Country Club (whereone of mine is, but it's members only).
In downtown Wake Forest, NC, just north of Raleigh on US-1, there is an adorable tea room that serves really good food and of course tea. They have small rooms that would offer some privacy for the group as well. It's on Main Street.
You could also try 518 (privacy upstairs), Coquette @ North Hills, or any of the new hotels like the downtown Marriott or the new Renaissance at North Hills. Good luck!
I was in Chapel Hill last weekend and had afternoon tea at the Carolina Inn. It was lovely. If not too far, that would be a nice place for a shower.
We're having our bridesmaid's luncheon at Parizade in Durham, and I'm sure that would be lovely for a shower. Also the Weathervane in Chapel Hill might be nice. It's harder to think of good places in Raleigh itself. I like EVOO and Duck and Dumpling, but I don't know if they do lunch. We're having our rehearsal dinner at Bloomsbury Bistro- that might be a good place if they're open during the day.
