After a hellish day trying to get the frig outta the house I returned to the cottage where I lived for over 3 years. I’m pretty sure I’ve written here previously about how magical, amazingly comfortable, feminine and special this place is to me. Here’s just a couple photos of the beautiful, peaceful solitude I had to pry myself from last month as I moved in with my Fiance and his two sons. Seriously. Look at this place. Look at it.
Now, don’t get me wrong: I love my Fiance and I love his boys, but facing a household of them (soon-to-be smelly teenager boys LOL!) ain’t too pretty by comparison! Whew! Where’s that Lysol?! Sooooo, I’ve got a lot to get used to…but I shall, I shall.
In the meantime, here’s the coolest part: my former landlady also happened to be my friend prior to my tenancy in the cottage, and now, she is my Maid of Honor! We had such a blast living just a few feet away from each other and had an open door policy, waking up and catching each other for coffee in the garden, little visits here and there. I miss her daily company.
Before my friend starts showing my old place to prospective tenants, she is being very generous and letting me stay over tonight which is the night before my bridal shower! The shower will take place tomorrow afternoon here and in the surrounding garden. It works out nicely as I’ll help her finish decorating tomorrow morning.
When I arrived tonight, dragging myself up the driveway after a hard day, I was overcome with emotion at how beautifully she decorated the place. She really went all out. As it is, I’m convinced this place is enchanted. Couple that already awesome feeling and atmosphere with a dash of my request for an English Tea Party theme and my friend’s phenomenal taste and you’ve got yourself one storybook shower. Here’s just a couple teaser pics I took before it got too dark.
It’s been a month since I moved in with my Fiance and as much as I’m feeling comfortable there and things are going swimmingly, being back at the cottage tonight is…as though I’d never left. I think a part of me is still here. I cannot wait to experience it all with my friends tomorrow. Until then, it is time to get some rest in this lovely cottage, content with happy memories, with great things to come, and knowing I can always visit my friend. I am truly blessed and so lucky to have such an amazing Maid/Matron of Honor.
