@AbbeyMars:  I don’t know if either of these are necessarily new but…

1. The purse game: There’s a list of items that people might find in their purses and you’re awarded points for each item.  Some of them are obvious things like gum, sunglasses, keys, etc..some of them are ones not everyone might carry around like dog treats, nail file, book, etc.  You can find rules and different versions all over the net.

2. Draw the bride on her wedding day: You have guests put a paper plate on their heads and draw what they think the bride will look like on her big day.  The best drawing as picked by the bride wins.

We also played the dice game for small gifts at the shower I just threw for my MOH.

We had an activity, not a game.  My aunt had card stock that would fit into a photo album along with pens, stickers, fun scissors, and stuff and asked everyone to write something to the bride and groom (we had a wedding shower, so it was both genders) and then she took pcitures and made it into a book for me.  It was so wonderful and sweet.

We played a great game last weekend at my shower, take a small-ish bowl and put 20 or so safety pins in it. Blindfold one person and see how many pins they can find in 2 minutes. Go all around the circle and the person who got the most pins within 2 minutes gets a prize. It is much harder than it sounds.

@AbbeyMars:  Personally, I like showers that have more activities than games. We did a scrapbook station for the last one I hosted.

For actual games…

* Bridal photos: print pictures of brides from movies/tv. Put a sticker over their faces. People have to guess who the actress was + what movie/tv show it’s from.

* Textual love: Get the bride & groom to email you texts they’ve recieved from the other. Guests have to guess who sent which text. (You could also do this in place of the “quiz the bride” type game. Have the groom send you texts he’s sent her and you mix in fake lovey dovey texts. She has to guess which are real.)
