People just pick off the wedding registry, you don’t need a separate shower registry.

Originally we thought it might be difficult to find things to register for too because we’ve both lived on our own for 10+ years, but we registered for stuff that we could update from what we already have and things that we could use in a new house- like sheets for a guest room bed, some outdoor stuff for when we have a year, etc.  So, in the meantime, we put a lot of what we got into storage unfortunately, but it will save us from having to buy a bunch of new things when we move!

Yup, a wedding registry is what they buy off of for the shower too. We registered for upgrades on all the hand-me-down stuff we had been using since college. It was really overwhelming at Bed, Bath, & Beyond so we went home and finished rounding it out after we got a general idea of things we needed and could register for. I had my shower this weekend and got a few duplicates/things not on the registry and BB&B took it right back, no receipts needed and gave me store credit!  Good luck and have fun!

@JaneDomani:  You don’t create a separate registry for the shower.  People will go to your wedding registry.
