So my bridal shower is this sunday and I feel like I'm doing everything myself! My bridesmaids and MOH arent helping really at all I mean, I even had to order my own cake for the shower it was so embarrassing. My bridesmaid decided she was going to have it at a restaurant so I asked her if she was going to host it and she said what do you mean? I said like are you going to have any games or anything? She says no I figured ppl would just buy there own food and then you could open your gifts. Are you serious? Is it just me or does this seem rude to have ppl pay for there own food when they are bringing me gifts?? So now I'm stuck coming up doing things on my own. I want to have at least door prizes maybe a gift card and a gift basket. Anyone have any ideas what I can put in the gift basket?? me and FI also decided we were just going to buy some appetizers for everyone (there will be around 20-25 ppl im estimating) does this seem ok? I just dont get how you can make guests pay for there food when they are coming to bring you something.

I think that is a nice gesture to pay for some appetizers.  Can you maybe have your mom or someone else talk to the Bridesmaids to let them know this is not really ok etiquette wise?

I agree with caszos - your mom could maybe drop some "hints" to your BMS, letting them know that guests will be expecting some sort of activity.

It's possible that they've never done a shower before, and don't know what goes into the planning process. Guests will probably not be expecting to purchase meals when they arrive, so providing light appetizers would be a great idea.
