I know there are other people who take care of these details and they are, however they are keeping me in the loop.
My MoH had $$ saved for my shower and wanted it to be great…and her furnace went out and she had to use the $ for that. I am 100% fine with that, its cold here in Michigan, I dont want anything fancy anyways.
I decided we would have it at the church on a Sunday afternoon. I anticipate about 50 people give or take. I need some food ideas. I didnt plan on a theme but a theme is not out of the question but my main focus is food ideas. My mom thought a taco bar and my MoH thought sandwiches and something else. I think sandwiches is a good afternoon food but what else can we serve as an option (other than salads and sides)?
What would go good with sandwiches? Or does the taco bar sound better?
Perhaps you have a better idea??? Please help!!!

The taco bar sounds delightful! However, with that might come a “mexican theme.” If that’s fine with you, then go for that!
Sandwiches are more of a staple that could go good with anything – cold salads, fruit, veggies, the whole she-bang. It leaves you with a lot of options.
At my recent shower we had mini quiches, mini pinwheels, mini eclairs, fruit salad, cheese and crakers. It was really yummy.
Or, since your Maid/Matron of Honor is having some money issues, maybe it can be pot luck? That way it kind of takes the thinking out of it, and you may get to try new foods!

I think the pot-luck is a good idea and you could make a theme out of it… ask everyone to bring the recipe for their dish so that the shower hostess can collect the recipes for you and send you off with a box full of delicious recipes from your friends and family members.

I think the potluck idea turning it into a recipe shower is so cute- I almost want to steal that for my own.If you did sandwiches you could do other finger foods like meatballs, pigs in a blanket, chicken bites, etc. If you will be DIYing the food check out this blog for some delicious recipes http://melissaheartsfood.blogspot.com/

Taco’s sound good and if you wanted to you could turn that into a whole theme
Or in terms of theme…you could use the wedding colors. You could just have “normal” food. Like sandwiches, fruit and cheese plates, etc… and then you could decorate with tables clothes, candle holders, flowers, etc….with the wedding colors
I just threw our freind and E-Party. I am not the best with doing a cohesive theme…so I did the wedding colors instead and that “theme” turned out really nice
