So for my bridal shower we want to put an insert with the invitations saying to bring a gift for either the kitchen, dining room, laundry room, living room, and bedroom. What is a good way to word these inserts without coming off too strongly?
We want an individual insert for every room, since each room will have about 5 people assigned to it. Thank you!

Don’t you have a registry? Honestly, I would think it’s too demanding, of your guests.

KearlSC: what about doing a nice cute poem or riddle that ties all the rooms together so it sounds creative, people get it, but it doesn’t come off strong like “I need this” etc.

KearlSC: Too much work.
Just register for the things you want for each room. You can’t tell guests what gift to get you, but you can give them an idea of what you want by registering for said gift.

Around the House showers are not uncommon here. I have also been to Around the Clock showers where you are assigned a time of day and gift the bride something that would be used at that hour.
You can still look at the registry to get ideas, but the theme adds some fun to the shower.
