What is the best way to handle the bridal shower registry?  Did you use your wedding registries or create a new one?  If so, what store/site did you use?

    Thanks!!

We are having a few registries for purposes of both our bridal and wedding gifts (to the extent we receive any!)  We have registered at Macy's and Crate and Barrell.

We are using the same registries for anyone who wishes to get us a gift.  Due to our location and the location of most of our guests, our options were pretty limited.  Our main registry will be at Bed Bath & Beyond.

We are just using the same registries for shower and wedding purposes.  In my area, it is common for people to give gifts for the shower and money for the wedding, so I don't anticipate a problem, but if you get a lot of your registry items for your shower, you can always add more items before the wedding.  I've never seen anyone do a seperate shower registry, but it could be cute if you are having a theme shower or something.

I've never heard of separate bridal shower and wedding registries- I thought you registered as a couple and people used it for everything.

We're not planning on separate registries for the shower and wedding either.

I will try to include plenty of lower-priced items for shower attendees however.

I have heard of separate registries but have never seen it done before.  I would just make sure that your registries (wherever you choose to have them) have items that are less expensive / appropriate for a shower.

Most registries I've seen are their wedding registries that they use for both shower and wedding.  Traditional registries at at stores like Bed, Bath & Beyond, Target, Macy's, Crate and Barrel, Pottery Barn, Bloomingdales.  I found that the less traditional registries at Amazon.com or wishlist.com where there's a variety of items in one place are very helpful but they lack a store front.
