We are trying to decide on Saturday v Sunday bridal shower. The showers I have been to, have always been on a Sunday, so I assumed mine would be on a Sunday. I also feel like Sunday afternoon is towards the end of the weekend, most errands and things are done and Saturday afternoon woudl be right smack in the middle for some people, and maybe too busy. My future Mother-In-Law says she has only ever been on Saturday afternoons and thinks be best for ppl because they wouldnt have work the next day.
Some wine would be served, but nothing too crazy. Light appetizers and some catered entrees. Women only.
What is your opinion?

I’ve mostly heard of Sunday ones, but mine will be on a Saturday. We had to do it when my mom was in town, and that left us either this coming weekend or Thanksgiving weekend. Thanksgiving weekend was out because people are out of town or busy with family or whatever, so it had to be this coming one. My birthday is on Sunday, though, and it would be weird to have a shower on my birthday. So… Saturday it was.

Honestly I don’t think it makes much of a difference. I’ve been to showers on both Saturdays and Sundays and it really didn’t affect me either way. Since invitations are sent out so far in advance they aren’t going to be “too busy” or fill the day up with errands… They’ll know they have a shower to go to that day! 🙂

Depends on who is invited. Some young Mothers have kids who play sports, so lots of games are on Saturdays. I’ve only ever been to one on Sundays, early, and done and home by 4-ish.

I have been to more Sunday showers than Sat ones, and I hate them. But that is because I typically have to travel and I despise having to try to get home in late Sunday afternoon traffic. Also, when showers are on Saturdays that usually lends itself to a whole day and into the evening spent with my girlfriends – we don’t get to see each other that often and I feel like you can relax and hang out once the the shower’s over and done.
I requested that my shower be held on Saturday afternoon since I was traveling to my mom’s house for it, and several girls were going to be staying over. I guess it really does depend on who is attending though. If it’s mostly local people it probably doesn’t matter.

I haven’t been to many showers, but I feel like most were on a Saturday. Mine is on a Saturday so my BMs and I can go out for my Bach party afterwards (most are from OOT).
I’d prefer Saturday to Sunday.
