Hmmm....I've never been to a Tea Party themed shower but what fun! How about finding some vintage or vintage-looking tea cups and saucers at yard sales or flea markets and planting flowers or succulents in them? Seems like I've seen it done somewhere but not sure where. Or how about tea sachets? Put some different flavored tea bags in sachet and maybe a little tiny jar of honey or a nice spoon? You can proably find some spoons cheap at yard sales or flea market.
i've seen a "tea party" themed party where the hostess found really cute & unique tea cups & then the girls got to take their cup home with them as a favor...
you could also get these cute favor boxes from paper source and add sugar packets & tea bags or honeysticks and add them to the teacups! Lots of ideas...
Celestial Seasonings sells honey sticks that are so good & great tea flavors too... check them out (http://celestialseasonings.elsstore.com/view/category/5531-honey-sticks/)
You can read the posts on my Bridal "Tea Party" & the gift bags I made:

Mrs. Cookie also had a recent post on this topic:

My FMIL got everyone a tea cup and saucer. She thrifted most of them and bought some from England during her trip there.
To add to what tessabella said, how about using the vintage tea cups (from yard sales and flea markets and making them into candles? Mrs. Cookie just blogged about a tea shower: http://www.weddingbee.com/2009/05/13/bridal-tea-goodie-bag/
Or, you could just go with teapot shaped cookies...inexpensive, cute and yummy :)
I did see Miss Beagle's shower recap, and thought the vintage tea cups were really cute....however, I worry that I won't find enough between now and the shower (it's only a few weeks away). I haven't passed by many yard sales in my area.
you could always try goodwill and other thrift stores. I picked up quite a few crystal punch cups there for .25 each to use at a formal shower a while back.
I second the goodwill idea. They usally have a good selection of dishware. Otherwise you could just give tea related items (tea, honey, cookies or sweets).
Or you could get some plain white ones from Walmart or the dollar store and make candles like Mrs. Cookie.
I think even some tea bags and shortbread cookies would be nice. The teacups would be a great addition if you could find them and if you think your guests would like them, but I'd rather just have the tea than have a single, unmatched, teacup.
I know I am totally late to this board, but let me know, Miss Pinot, if I can be any help with the "tea party" shower. Just PM me.
This may be way too late, but did you see the adorable DIY tea tins on Style Me Pretty? http://www.stylemepretty.com/2009/03/25/diy-project-tea-tins/
I am doing an afternoon high tea party for my MOH who is getting married in August! I'm in charge of favours and decor so I have been gathering ideas. One of th easiest options for favours, if you want to do something low key, is to give everyone loose tea bags with a thank you tag. I've uploaded an inspiration photo.
I'm also doing tea tin centrepieces like in the other photo I have uploaded. I'm so excited I totally can't wait!
We're also making British style tea hats and fascinators for everyone to wear!
I'm doing a tea party also and was thinking of giving away the tea sachets (pic above) or tea strainers from Beau Coup.

I'm hosting a bridal shower in June, and it's a "Tea Party" themed event. I'm in need of some super cute ideas for favors! (ideally, affordable ones!)
Has anyone out there hosted a "Tea Party" themed shower before? Did you give favors to the guests? What other cute ideas did you come up with?
