How many guests are going to be invited? I’ve seen all three done, and done well. It depends what you like, what the budget is, and how many people are invited.

House showers are nice and intimate- however they tend to work best with a smaller guestlist (depending on the house).

We use the backyard of my parents house. We had around 45 guests, so we just used 4 round tables.

It worked perfect because it was a garden themed shower.

They’re smaller where I’m from (usually less than 25 people) and I have never been to one that wasn’t at someone’s house. Then the hostess can make it as elaborate (or not) as she wants.

My shower was held at a French Bistro – we enjoyed a high tea.

amoore2:  my shower was at a restaurant in Hoboken. It had an upstairs that they rented out to us and opened the doors so the guests could see the city across the river.

Same place my reception will be. They give you the space for the shower when you book for a wedding. Its a nice hall in a park.

My shower will be at a shelter in a local park, as it was only $80 to reserve for the whole day and I’m also doing my bachelorette party there as well that evening.
