I don't know about bridal shower games (my shower is still a ways off), but one game that I've had at parties that has been a hit is the "Who am I?" game. Each guest has a card taped to their back (that they do not see) with a name on it. They must go around and ask people yes, no, or very short answer questions to figure out who they are. It's a wonderful ice breaker and an excellent way to get people talking for the rest of the day.
I didn't play the standard bridal shower games but we did have a crossword puzzle about me and fiancée. It was a big hit but there were a lot of cheaters ;)
I think the games that the most fun are about the couple -- i.e.relationship trivia contest, etc. I'm less into "generic" games -- ie toilet paper bride.
Instead of making a dress out of toilet paper, my cousin had fabric scraps, ribbon, fake flowers, and lace at her shower for teams to make dresses out of. It was still really traditional, but an interesting spin to see what everyone came up with! I really like the crossword puzzle idea!
We did bride and groom trivia and the spice of life game...
We all had a chance to sample 15 different spices and the person that identified the most won a prize :)
Oh geeze...I fear games. I've been told that I won't be subjected to them!

are there any games that were played at your bridal shower that went well/were a hit? or did you just go with the flow and played a game if there was an awkward moment?
my shower is this saturday and I am not sure if there should be a game or two or just have everyone socialize, eat and be merry.
