@MissParrot:  No, I didn’t find them helpful. I’ve been married for a year, and I still get phone calls, mail, and emails for “my upcoming wedding”.

@MissParrot:  i went to win too, but the prizes you win are about 500 pesos and i had to pay 100 to enter to the show so, meh I rather save up the money

I only went to 1, it was kinda lame. Didn’t win anything and it was super high pressure.

We got a huge discount on our photographer because we found him at a bridal show, found some good options for photobooths and I was able to set up an appointment with the bridal salon I ended up finding my dress at. It was a really great way to jump into wedding planning and see all the different range of services.  I also went to a show that was showcasing a bunch of different venues around town – they bussed us around in limos and had different caterers (and drinks!) and makeup artists at each place.  By that time I had already booked pretty much everything but I took a friend with me and it was just a really fun way to spend the day.  I probably wouldn’t have bothered with a second one if it weren’t for the awesome way it was set up. I never won anything from any of them…got a ton of fun photobooth photo strips though! lol

I went when I was just getting started with planning. I met my eventual photographer there, and it was nice to just see what was out there

I have gone to three.  They are okay, at first.  Some can get sooo crowded, like the Great Bridal Expo.  Plus, they have you fill out a card that they use to call you and say you “won” a trip, coupons, and a percentage off of cookware.  The prizes are real, but you have to go to a demo, and the cookware is outrageous.

I did go to the Wedding Salon.  I enjoyed that one, until a headache came on.  I basically went to that one to meet David Tutera and Sylvia Weinstock!  Lots of great goodies to be had, though.  The Great Bridal Expo has David’s Bridal there, and they are the first people you see, and they are pushy.  And the last vendor was a MaryKay rep who pretty much blocked me from leaving because she was trying to get me to book a party.  I feel like I should come to you, not the other way around.  So I have mixed feelings.
