it just so happened that there was a bridal show in my area the day after i got engaged. there were a ton of local vendors there, but since i've decided to do a desitation wedding the only thing i got out of it was junk mail/email ;-)
however, if you're getting married locally, it's a great way to meet personally with a ton of local vendors all in one afternoon, in one place!
I would definitely recommend going to a bridal show - they are so much fun! I went to one a few weeks ago, and basically there are just a bunch of local vendors and you get to meet them all and talk to them in one place, which makes things a little easier for you. A lot of them will also offer special discounts and deals for people who attend the bridal show (for example, at the one I went to we all got $500 in "Bridal Bucks" and some vendors were accepting them as partial payment - my photographer is accepting up to 200 bridal bucks, so it worked out really well for me!
Also, alot of caterers and bakeries will have samples and stuff so you can try them out - I actually think I may have found my baker through the bridal show because their samples were so amazing!
I went to my first one last weekend and I have a bigger one coming up next weekend!
It is great for local vendors - for example we haven't booked our DJ yet so I got to talk to all of the local DJs and they will most likely give you deals for coming to the bridal show if you book within 2 weeks of the show!
Know what you are looking for from each vendor because they will ask and you will get more out of it if you have an idea!
Good Luck and Have Fun!

So maybe this is a silly question but what exactly is a bridal show? Like what goes on there? What things should I know before going? Any tips? Is it useful to go to one?
There's one next weekend that a family member wants to take me to but I'm so confused by it.
