I need to raise the hem of my drop waist ballgown by about an inch. I woud prefer to do this using a slip or crinoline as it will save me a ton of money on alterations. I already feel hot in my dress. Does anyone have a recommendation for an underskirt that would do the job without adding tons of heat trapping layers?

@gingernutjo: you’ll actually find that a hoop skirt will raise the hem and keep you cooler as will keep the layers of fabric off your legs!

I was told crinoline was move comfy. The others require another layer under your dress.

Yeah, Crinoline is airy and not hot. the one that I wear alot of theirs is from http://www.pettiskirtstyle.com/vintagewedding.htm lots of colors, and important note: They use organza as the layer closest to skin, so very cool, crisp, not itchy or hot at all
Hoops are a pain in the neck so hard to sit!!
