BUYER BEWARE!!!! To all the brides-to-be out there – BEWARE of bridal shops and bridesmaid dress shops.
It was my experience that when shopping for your wedding gown or bridesmaid dresses these places see you coming from miles away. I ordered my bridal gown from AMANDALINA’S in Woodbridge. First of all, the testimonals on their page are all screened and you have to email your ‘positive’ comments to them otherwise don’t expect that they will be posted. Typically, I am and have always been a size 0-2, they ordered my dress in a size 4. Obviously, it was huge when it came in. They charged me $400.00 for alterations. After 6 – that’s right – SIX fitting, they finally got it right. I made the mistake of paying in full for my alterations and dress ahead of time and they were completely unhelpful and rude when it came to making the alterations. Two of the times when I went back, they had done nothing at all to the dress. I was there today and another bride was on her 2nd set of alterations and they had not completed anything that they were supposed to have done after her first fitting. I repeat – BUYER BEWARE!!!!
Bridesmaid Bliss – DO NOT – I REPEAT – DO NOT purchase anything from this store. Again, in Woodbridge. They are so nice until you had over your deposit and then you are meaningless to them. My entire wedding party, flower girls, my mother, future-mother-in-law and sister-in-law all ordered dresses from there. One dress came in, in the wrong colour, two dresses were ordered in the wrong size and one they messed up the alterations and didn’t even steam the dress and told my mother she would have to take it to the cleaners to be pressed. What kind of service is this!
I caution all brides. These stores expect that you will only get married once. You think they would want to make it an enjoyable process but really all they want is to take your money and provide terrible customer service. Read all fine print, get confirmations in writing and leave lots of time for yourself to make alterations, cause God knows they’ll order the wrong size so that they can get you to pay for alterations.
Good luck to all brides but a word of warning – AVOID AMANDALINA’S AND BRIDESMAIDS BLISS

Arielle Bridal in Ambler, PA — ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! I repeat DO NOT go there. See my other post about how they threatened to hold all my dresses hostage until I agreed to pay in full for the dress for a dropped out Bridesmaid or Best Man. We expected to lose the deposit, but this is bull!

Gioavonni’s Bridal Boutique, which is an online bridal store. A horrible replica and no refund.
I learned a valuable lesson with my experience with them. First of all, any web site is only going to show testimonials from satisfied customers and nothing says that all those testimonials are real! Also, I HIGHLY recommend you check the BBB to see if they have a report about the establishment – if I had, I would have found ou that Gioavonni’s have a rating of F! I also recommend doing a search on the establishment to see if there are ratings/reviews/complaints and most importantly – check the refund/return policy!

Eerie… I was thinking of Bridesmaids Bliss when I clicked on the post title… I witnessed a really bad situation at that shop while picking up my Maid/Matron of Honor dress for a friends wedding last fall. I ended up taking it home and having my mom alter it, just to get it in hand and out of the shop.

For all brides, no matter what company you are interested in for all wedding supplies, do a check on the BBB to see if they are rated. This will save you a lot of headaches in the end.
Even a little Google check will work out too!

DO NOT USE BRIDESMAIDS BLISS. I REPEAT: DO NOT.
The two girls that work there are highly unprofessional and absent minded. They do not know how to run a business.
I had been in there about 8 times and not only did they not remember my name (which could be understandable), they did not even remember my face and treated me as a “new” customer each time! That was very annoying and unprofessional.
I had called them many times to ask when the dresses would be in, and they could never give me a straight answer. They even told me that they would NOT be calling me to let me know when the dresses were in. When I called two weeks later they said the dresses had come in and that they “had called me”, when in fact they had not. I ordered the dresses 8 months before my wedding and they did not come in until the month before! Then they said we should come back for alterations 1 week before the wedding. There was no way I was doing that so I promptly took the dresses elsewhere to be altered.
They also do not know how to measure properly. They told me my normal-sized 11-yr old sister would not fit in the junior dresses. Ridiculous! They then measured her to be a 22 in the adult size. Clearly my normal-sized sister is not that huge and they just don’t know what they are doing.
Granted, their store does have a lot of selection, but when weighing the pros and cons, there are definitely many more reasons to NOT go there.
There are so many other stores you can go to– save yourself the headache and go somewhere else!
