So my dress could be here this week or next at the latest. Because I paid in full my bridal salon allows me to leave my dress there until alterations (our wedding is in October so I don’t want alterations done now) and until the actual wedding day.
Here is my problem: My stupid bride of a brain is taking over and saying, “Oooh pretty dress, bring it home!” However, everything in reality says, “Um no stupid girl! You have a great dane , a chihuahua, and a german shepherd! Hello disaster! Not to mention what if it gets dirty in the car? The temperature at the house isn’t just right and the color changes? It’s wrinkled then you have to pay to have it pressed rather than the salon pressing it because it’s at the shop! etc……”
But that stupid bride brain says, “BRING IT HOME! Then you can put it on every day (which would be incredibly stupid as well)” Please talk some sense into me before I act on my stupidity! ha ha ha. I am so not usually this girl! But geez, give me a pretty dress and my brain turns to mush. lol.
What did you ladies do with your dresses when they came in?

Leave the dress at the salon. Do you know how much room the dress (and dress bag) takes up? Its a little insane.

I stored mine at my parents house since they have lots of unused bedrooms now and empty closets. I agree with texasmeredith, leave it at the shop because it takes up TONS of space! Plus you save yourself the cost of getting it pressed (something I didn’t think of and am now panicking about soon before the wedding I should get it pressed).

leave it there! It’s hard to resist, but you can always stop by and try it on to get your fix. You might feel silly, but it’s better than taking chances of it getting dirty, torn, or have your fiance find you in it!

Do you have a photo of you in the dress that you can put in your wallet and look at everyday? Then you won’t have to worry about the dress!

So tempting but I think it’s better off at the salon if you don’t have a special place to store it….but can totally understand wanting it!

Leave it as long as they don’t charge you. Otherwise, you can store it at a friends house the way the salon advises. Get it done, altered a month before the wedding and you will be fine. YOu won’t want to try it on all those days. it will take some of the OH MY G I’m getting married away:)
