i battle with acne and oily skin on and off, so i really want to make sure my skin is clear and relatively scar/old acne spot free on my wedding day! sadly, the only thing that has reeally worked for helping my sking is taking the pill and i've been off it for some time now and my skin has reverted to its yucky, uncontrollable (read: adolescent) state. :( :(
my plan right now is to get regular facials starting about 5-6 months in advance, going once a month for the first 3 months and then maybe going every three weeks or so from the 2 month point on. i've gotten many facials before and have never had any kind of reaction (or even any redness) afterward so i'm not too worried about that.
i might also splurge and buy some better quality products than what i'm using now. i also feel like your diet has a little bit to do with it, so i will definitely be attaching a water bottle to my person to make sure i drink enough water. also, sleeping enough. and my last resort is temporarily going back on birth control starting a couple months before the wedding. i was off it to try to combat some medicial issues but i think i'm in the clear to start the pill again if necessary.
would definitely be interested to hear other ladies' suggestions/plans/regimens before the big day!
I have been using Artistry for about a year now and my skin is so much clearer.. I have people comment on it all the time.
I use the microderm abrasian kit once every two weeks.. and I have my skin care kit which is the Cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and cream I use morning and night. I also have a cream I use between my toner and moisturizer and an eye cream. I decided that my skin is something I would invest in.

Good ideas ladies! Where are you getting your facials done?
I have never really had issues with my skin outside of a couple of monthly pimps (lol) on my chin
Basic regimen
Alcohol
Acne-Free Tea Tree Moisturizer
And I do wear makeup daily
I'm in NYC so there are never any shortages of places to go get facials. I've signed up for this deal alert called SpaSally, and every Tuesday they email you about a $25 spa deal which ranges from massages to facials to manis and pedis. The deal is good for up to a year after you purchase it, so I'm basically starting to bank up my deals, lol! Every time I see a facial deal at well-rated, reputable spa, I buy it! Also, mani-pedi deals. That way, all I'll have to do is make the appointment! I'm not sure if they participate with spas in other cities, but once these things tend to do well, they do expand.
What's wrong with your skin?
Like, what are you trying to get rid of?
What skin type are you?
What have you already tried?
well as far as I know I have combo skin i get break outs in my Tzone here and there..I also have large pores. I need to even out skin tone too and have a nice soft supple skin with a glow.

how will u ladies prep your skin leading up to your wedding? I am thinking about doing a professional microdermabeasion 5 months before the wedding along with a photo facial in addition to my daily skin acre routine. I also have a few dark spots to rid my skin of. What other skin treatments for women of color would u recommend or worked for u b4?
I head it's not a good idea to do facials close to wedding date
I also heard it's not good to try new products close to wedding date as the skin may reat badly.
