Okay this is not about me. My Co-worker is getting married and she wants to wear her eye-glasses on her wedding day with her gown. Her sister said she has always been seen in glasses so without her glasses it’s not her. Her glass looks nice on her but with regular office clothes, but I am not sure about the bridal look.
We all try to talk her out of it. She is pretty and what is the point of getting all dolled up with eye-lash extention if she is going to wear glasses. What is your take on this? Did you wear your eye-glasses on your wedding day? If you did, did you wish you would have opt for contact lenses instead?

I think if glasses are what she wears, then she should totally go for it. Of course brides want to be dolled up but they always want to be them. If she wants to wear glasses then I wouldn’t be trying to talk her out of it.

Well I havent gotten married yet but the FH and I both wear glasses and we will not be wearing it on our wedding day! I can not stand to be in glasses and neither can he….the only reason we are wearing them now because we dont have the money to get contacts yet….but we are getting them at the end of august!
I have never seen a bride with glasses so I wouldnt know if it looks bad or not.
But it comes down to what she is comfortable with!

Fi and I both wear glasses. We will not be wearing them on our wedding day, just because They have transitions lenses and I dont want all of our outdoor pictures to look like we had sun glasses on lol. But Ithink that if she is more comfortable and thats her look, then she should do it. Im a firm believer in a bride doing and wearing what makes her comfortable.

Plenty of brides wear their glasses on their wedding day and they look fine! Why would you try to talk her out of it? I don’t get it. I’m wearing mine on my wedding day.

Nothing weird about that.

I wore my glasses on my wedding day because I’ve worn them everyday since second grade and I am so glad I wore them. I did get dolled up and I felt like my glasses were just another part of that. Here are links to my recaps to show what I looked like but I actually would have really regretted not wearing them actually. My husband wears glasses but didn’t during the first look only because he has Transitions lenses and didn’t want them to change in the light.

I bought contacts so I wouldn’t have to wear glasses on my wedding day, but to be honest I think I’m just going to wear my glasses. I just can’t see as well with my contacts as I can with my glasses, and I really don’t think I’ll enjoy my wedding day if I’m worried about my contacts all day. I think it’s totally her choice. If she’s more comfortable in glasses, then she should wear them.

I wore glasses because I have every day since I was 16. But, I did get half rimless and they were very understated. I bought them specifically to wear in the wedding, but can wear them now after the fact as well

I will be wearing my glasses because they are part of me. I have been wearing them since I was 2 years old. Plus if I don’t wear them, I’m blind. I can’t do contacts cuz my eyes are too dry and I would be putting drops in every 30min. My Fiance is also wearing his glasses. I will rock my glasses! hihi

Ok-on a day to day basis I have my cool black retro rectangle frames which I love. However, I recognize that when I am wearing them, that they do dominate my face, and that is not what I want on my wedding day. There is a website, Zenni Optical that has ridiculously cheap eye glasses. I have bought a couple of pairs of prescription sun glasses from them, and a few months ago I bought a pair of rimless glasses with pink frames, that just blend into my face in pictures. With shipping, they cost me around $25 but there are even cheaper glasses on the website. As long as you have your eyeglass prescription, including your pupillary distance, you can order glasses from them.
These are my wedding day glasses

I can see her wanting to wear glasses if that is what she wears every day. It would be strange to look at wedding photos later and feel like you weren’t looking at yourself in them. Now if the style of the glasses doesn’t match the style of her dress then I can see how you might think it would look odd.
If I decide to wear my glasses it will look odd since I have green scrolls on the side and they are way too modern looking to go with my dress. I’m leaning towards contacts anyway since the last four months has been the first time I’ve worn glasses in the last six years. I still feel like I’m not looking at me when I get up in the morning because I’m so used to contacts.
