I went to one back in July. I would say it wasn’t worth the time and money (bought a VIP ticket so I could enter early, most did). Though it was a donation to charity so I didn’t feel so bad. A couple girls found their dresses, but I found the whole event to be really disorganized.

They brought us into a small room in a hotel and offered some refreshments. There were so many girls that We were literally packed in elbow to elbow. What a mess. Some girls were walking around the dress aisles with cake and mimosas – seriously??? I was surprised these women were walking through crowded aisles of dresses with orange juice in hand, and no one cared.

I only tried on two dresses of the 4 double sided racks they had. Most were in the sample size range (I’m a size 2/4). When it came time to try on dresses there was not enough dressing areas. It was like a high school locker room, girls were in their bras and underwear trying on dresses out in the open. I especially remember one girl who was trying on outside of a dressing room and she was wearing a thong… I didn’t need to see that. A volunteer was nice enough to assist me since I came alone. I had to share a mirror with the chick in the thong (and she was kind of hogging it). I liked one of the dresses and was snapping photos to send to my mother and when I turned my back someone was running off with my dress. I had to flag them down and explain I was still mulling over it (a mori lee, which was marked as being around $375).

I thought it was going to be in a big ballroom, but it was one of those rooms that can be sectioned off for business conferences and stuff. It was super tiny considering like 100+ brides were there.

I guess it depends on how many brides attend and where it is held because I had a very positive experience at the BABC event that I went to.. I even bought my dress there! The changing area was not ideal, but there were areas curtained off to change so I never felt uncomfortable or saw anyone else changing. The volunteers were pretty helpful but to see your dress they held up mirrors and I couldn’t always see them clearly. I am a size 4 and actually remember seeing some super tiny dresses. They also had veils, hair accessories, etc. but I did not really look at those. They do accept credit cards 🙂
