Yeah - we double and triple checked everything, FI was at his wits end because I made him call and check on a couple of spellings (but this is the guy who didn't know whether his own mother's name was spelled with one R or two). I figure its better to call and check than get it wrong in writing (proof positive that you just don't care enough). I would really wonder, if someone couldn't spell my name, why I should spend my time and money going to their wedding.

I just received a save the date from a friend of mine. We have known each other for about five years. I get the DIY invite, for January 2009 that is addressed to Mr. and Mrs. [insert fiance's first and last name]. My wedding isn't until May, she knows this, we talk about it all the time. Not only that, she spelled his name wrong!
Now, I am sure this isn't payback for not making her a bridesmaid, she isn't malicious, but I am sure she just guessed the spelling of his name, and was too lazy to check for sure. But addressing it to me with my future name?! Did I mention it was addressed upside down?
So, it boils down to this--double check your invite list for proper names and spelling. I can't tell you how tacky it looks when you are going for class and then screw it up with stupid mistakes.
