@lena_k_29:  I had a traditional Hindu ceremony followed by a short legal ceremony the next day. I wore 2 sarees for my traditional ceremony and then a dress for my legal ceremony. I would wear 2 outfits if they’re on 2 different days.

Above are the 3 different outfits I wore

I was legally married December 9th and had a “big white wedding” June 15th. For our Justice of the Peace wedding, I wore a very modest white cocktail dress I found on Amazon. For the “big white wedding” I wore a traditional bridal gown.

I wouldn’t say you have to wear two dresses. My mom really wanted the experience of buying a bridal dress & dress shopping with me, so that’s the main reason I had a gown. Otherwise, I would’ve just worn any ol’ thing.

@lena_k_29:  do you have the funds to get a second dress? I would get two just becasue I LOVE so many different wedding dresses haha. I’m married and I still drool over dresses that I didnt wear. How far apart will the dates be?? If they are close together, could you keep the photos a secret and your dress will still be a surprise at the second event?

We’re doing a full church wedding and reception here in the US, followed two months later by celebrations and receptions in Peru and Chile. I’ll be wearing the same dress for all three events. Likewise, FI will wear his tuxedo for all three. We really like being able to wear the same thing to all the parties.

A friend of mine had three receptions and wore the same dress for all three, as well. She’s Mormon, so they had the wedding and reception in Utah, where they live, a reception for the groom’s home friends/family in Idaho, and one for the bride’s family/friends in Ohio.

@lena_k_29:  Nope! It’s a really cool dress and people all wanted to see it up close. Plus it’s so expensive it’d be wasteful for me to buy two.

I am! We are having an intimate catholic wedding ceremony on Thursday and our big wedding ceremony at a winery on Friday. I got 2 dresses! Here they are: (apparently they come out sideways when uploading them on my phone… Sorry!)

Bottom is for winery and top for church. Although I think I will change into my church wedding dress at the winery wedding reception because it is more lightweight!
