I’ve spent the last 3 days working on my bridesmaids dress and flowergirls dress.
The flowergirls is almost done, with the exception of the hem, she’s 7 and I wont hem it until a week or so before the wedding, incase of a growth spurt. She came around to try it on this morning and was prancing about, she looked gorgeous and like a princess!
The bridesmaid dress is also done bar a small bit of overlocking around some seams, and the hem, as we havent yet decided on shoes but hopefully thatll be this weeks job.
2 more items crossed off the list!
Flowergirl dress – sash is only pinned here.

Wow, you made them yourself? Nice work! I’ve owned a sewing machine for 5 years and so far I’ve made… a halloween costume. That’s smart to wait on hemming the flowergirl dress! I have a son (who turned 6 today!) and he grew 4.5 inches in a year and a half! I have all of my bridesmaid dresses now but my sister doesn’t like hers :(. I bought 3 of them pre-owned or on clearance and they are all the same fabric and color but different. She has been a huge help and did my taxes (it’s her profession) in exchange for the bm dress. I put hers for sale and now I am looking again. She said she’d stand up next to me in a burlap sack because she’s awesome like that but I want her to be happy.
Our daughter is our flower girl and she looooves her dress. She’s only 18 months and my FMIL and FSIL (she’s still in HS) came to visit for my son’s birthday and I brought out the dress. We look over and my daughter is stripping down because she wants to put on her dress, lol. She pranced and twirled in it and took off running when it was time to take it off :).
Feels good to check something off the list, doesn’t it! I’ve been making jewelry for about 12 years now, and I haven’t even started on it yet! I’m making all of mine and for all the bridesmaids as well. All their dresses are different but very similar and I want the jewelry to be that way as well.

I was originally going to make my dress too, but things are getting closer, and there was a lot going on, this time last week I packed a wobbly, threw the one I was making and decided eff it, I’m buying a dress! LOL. No regrets whatsoever.
Nice to at least have done something towards the clothing for the wedding though, I need to make a page boy tie to match, but thatll be an afternoon project and no biggie.
Jewelry is going to be the next thing for me too, I’ve only got the one BM, so it’s just myself, her and her daughter (whos the flower girl). Have got the most gorgeous earrings for us all, I’ll be wearing a special necklace from my grandma so really just have to get the girls something nice.
We are 111 days to go, I think once we hit 3 months it’ll fly!
