I’m struggling with deciding on the color combo for the wedding. I want to do purple and brown but I’m not finding the right color of purple that I like that will go with the chocolate brown. What other colors can i mix together as enhancements or should I give up on brown and do purple and something? My weddig is in October.
There are a couple of purple lapis and amethyst bridesmaid dresses I found a David’s Bridal that I like. The guys I wanted them to wear Brown sutis (totally non-traditional wedding) but I’m on the fence. Maybe just there flower will be purple with tuxes..

I think a royal purple would be with chocolate brown if you added an orange or ivory. Something that would balance the two darker colors would be really beautiful for fall as well.

I agree that you need a bright color to offset the dark colors. Purple and brown are unique and I think orange will make everything pop. And… since you’re having an October wedding, orange would be perfect!
The ladies could wear the purple dress you like and carry bouquets that are heavy with orange. I think an orange belt or shawl/wrap with the dresses would make the color combo more “together”. Maybe you could have the guys wear brown suits and have boutinniere’s that are purple/orange using ribbons, flowers and or leaves.
I think ivory would match nicely but it would be boring. If you don’t care for orange, maybe anothe bright fall color like yellow or a form of red would work. I like hotwing’s suggestion of orange the best though.
Do you want to post a pic of the purple dress you like so we can see it?

I completely agree that a bright color would really add to the purple and brown. If you don’t like orange, I think a nice lime green would look great too!

I never saw this update. Thank so much for the love!
I was having a hard time with the chocolate since both that and purple was so dark. So I’ve pretty much put it on the back burner. I more looking at purples.grays with complement colors like turquoise (peacock) for accessory etc. Our wedding is pretty non-traditional so we will see how it goes!
I decided to do my bridesmaid dresses in two different colors of purple. Victorian Lavender and Eggplant.
There dress is the following. I have a party of 5 so two will be in Victorian Lilac and 3 in Eggplant.
I was looking at a couple stores on etsy and they have purple and regular peacock clips that may go nicely.
