- Wedding: August 2012
I was a bridesmaid for a friend (this corresponds to an earlier post). In condensed form, ultimately I was her bridesmaid (she was not mine), the costs of being in her wedding party exceeded $1000/bridesmaid and when I told the other girls I had a problem with the huge costs, they were uncomfortable and asked that she “kick me out.” She did… She has been adamant on mending the friendship but for me, I’m still unsure of how to react. That was until today.
I gave her a call to retrieve the bridesmaid dress money (as she said she would refund). She then stated no, I’m not taking the dress back. Ok, I thought? I became a bit upset (after holding my calm over the hurt and heartache of a) being kicked out of a bridal party for monetary constraints and b) dealing with her rude aftermath accusing me of being the reason this occured), this just seemed ridiculous.
Worse yet, we purchased chair covers for our wedding together. Splitting the cost of 150 of my 300 covers. I’ve already “sold” them after both of our weddings to another bride and I fear that if i give them to her after my own wedding (my date is first), that I won’t get them back.
What should I do? Thanks for your much needed advice everyone!
