@MissKit:  is your wedding date really Nov? you have plenty of time, if that’s the case. as long as she orders it by the end of July, she should be fine and still have time for alterations. my sister is doing the same wishy-washy thing your BM is doing – she’s the last to order, and still hasn’t done it for my oct 12 wedding. i gave her a deadline of May 30 for my peace of mind, but really as long as she orders it by the end of June she’ll be fine. my first BM dress arrived last week, so they’ve taken about 2 months to come in, and they recommended 3 weeks for alterations (they’re one-shoulder long dresses).

@MissKit:  what brand are you guys using? our store told us a super early deadline, but it wasn’t accurate at all. i think now that their dresses are coming in, i’m thinking they told us a deadline to try and make sure we didnt order them secondhand or anything. 😉

we’re using Alfred Angelo, and they told us 3 months for the delivery of the dresses but it has only taken 2. i guess it could vary by brand, but the bottom line is, if she doesnt get it in time, she isnt in the wedding. i told my sister this – and its all you can do. if she really wants to stand up with you, she’ll get it ordered in time! 🙂

@MissKit:  Speaking from the student-bridesmaid-in-another-country side of things, she probably has ALOT going on. It sounds like you have given her plenty of reminders and she probably doesnt need another. I’d go ahead and order the other dresses.

@MissKit:  Then *don’t* be: she knows you need the order placed, and you should not hold up ordering the others.  She may just miss the boat on this one :-/

@MissKit:  The Dessy BM dresses for my wedding are taking between 2.5 and 4.5 months, so definitely listen to the store and order as early as possible. It’s stressing me out that the last three of my six dresses won’t be in until mid-June and I’m getting married at the end of July.

If she doesn’t get her act together, I would just tell the store to go ahead and order the dresses that have been ordered so far, and send hers in as a separate order. That way if she takes too long she will be the one paying the rush fee and your other BMs won’t have to suffer because she didn’t get her act together.
