- Wedding: November 2011
My best friend is getting married in less than a month and she recently lost a lot of weight. When she picked out the style of the bridesmaid dresses, they made everyone look about 15 pounds heavy than they are. The dresses are a beautiful color and the style is not that bad, but the dress is more poofy than I like…it was also meant to be flowy and light for the early august wedding. There are two layers, the bottom layer is a normal (satin-ish)dress material and it has a chiffon overlay for the second layer. Does anyone know a way to very subtly, and quickly, bring in the sides of the dress to make it a slightly tighter fit right under the bust line? I was thinking it might be possible to hand sew the satin layer on the inside of the dress, but wasnt sure if I could dart the chiffon without making the dress bunchy. I do not sew, but was hoping I could fix the dress so that I feel comfortable wearing it.
