Look at sites with Quineanera dresses. My dress is actually a Quinceanera dress in white. Usually cheaper too!
Do you have a davids bridal in your area? They might have some white dress you may like
When I was dress shopping a lot of the BM dresses came in white.

I considered wearing a Bari Jay bridesmaid dress in ivory as an informal wedding dress (see: http://barijay.com/). They offer many of their bridesmaid styles in white and ivory, and also have an informal wedding line that's not much different than the white/ivory BM dresses. The style I considered was #368, which is fun because the skirt unbuttons, taking it from long to short: http://barijay.com/style.php?coll=barijay&showid=523 but they have many more classic choices as well. Impressions has dresses in Ivory - that's where I got my backup dress. Don't know if you're looking for a bright white or just something that looks bridal.
Ask the bridesmaids dress shops in your area. One of the bridesmaids dress stores near me told me they sell a lot of white bridesmaids dresses for destination weddings and casual weddings.

I've seen the suggestion to buy a bridesmaid dress in white as a wedding dress for an informal/destination wedding, but I have no idea where I would find this. The few sites I've looked at don't offer dresses in white.
