Okay so things I know for sure…
1) I want to do a high low style bridesmaid dress
2) I want it to be teal/peacock/ocean blue and men in gray tux
3) Straps are a must preferrably halter.
I get a discount at the store I bought my bridal gown so we shopped there for bridemaid dresses. We were between two dresses but we fell in love with a Mori Lee 676 High low style. We all agree on it and the price was great. Yay done! right? Nope. My bridesmaid from out of state was here so we went ahead and got her measured and put the deposit down. Looking at the swatch I was okay with the color but didn’t love it but loved the dress so we went with it….I went home and looked up the colors and now I hate it. It’s not what I was envisioning.
Dress 1 Mori Lee 676 color options Marine (too blue and dark) or teal (too green and dark) we ordered in marine and would order extra material to make a halter. The store doesn’t have a dress in the color for me to see.
Dress 2 is Bari Jay 553 and we would order it in Peacock (which is the color I have been dreaming of!) I love the sheer and satin combo and it already has the halter. Costs more and with the satin the girls would def need spanks so then more money again. Also, we want to change it to high low like the purple split front.
Other options All Bari Jay in Peacock. I don’t really like the left and middle high lows. I love the right but we would have it altered to high low and then use the material from bottom to make the halter strap.
Also, things to think about:
Dress 1 Should I just stick the with dress that everyone loves and cheapest but is not in my color vision?
Dress 2 I love everything about it! the color is perfect and satin under is beautiful but it costs more and alterations are going to cost more to change hem. The girls are paying for their dresses (3 girls) so I am willing to pay for alterations. Also, my one bridesmaid might be preggers because her and hubby are working on it =] so will satin work?
Dress 3 (right Bari Jay) Again I love it! The store doesn’t have it to try on though. I actually like the bustline on it better than the Mori Lee. It’s the exact color I want but with no satin so no problems for possible preggo belly. Again, it would need to be altered to high low but maybe easier than changing the satin one to high low.
The dresses haven’t been ordered yet and only one is paid for so I THINK I can still change my mind….
