I've been on a hunt for purple dresses for my bridesmaids! Here are two that I found at a local store that had the sizes I needed... so I bought them for now while I decide which to keep (if any)!

I like how the neckline looks on this one, but the shade of purple is a little brighter than I was hoping for.

This is the perfect color/shade that I was looking for! It's pretty in person and feels luxurious (since it's 100% silk). The problem is that it seems to need some work to look more dressed up (maybe with the right pair of shoes, or altering the dress by adding a halter strap).

    Thoughts?

I love the color of the second one.  I think it already looks dressy, but if it's not as formal as you like, nice shoes and a necklace or fancy earrings could do the trick.

I like #2. I think both the color and the style are more elegant. I think with some nice jewelry it'll be lovely!

I absolutely love number 2. I don't think it needs much work at all to make it look formal. Add a gorgeous pair of heels, either some nice chandelier earrings or a statement necklace and a nice cuff or bracelet and I think it will look absolutely stunning. I personally think it is much more flattering and formal looking than the Clavin Klein.

Yes def #2!  I think it can be formal with the right shoes and accesories.  The color definitely plays up the formality of it too.  Great color!

I would be happy to wear #2 with a statement necklace. I think it looks dressy enough unless you are having a formal wedding.

DEF #2 especially if it's the perfect color you wanted!

I'm a firm believer that shoes make the outfit! So just request that they work a pair of "fancier" shoes. :)

I think the vote is in:  overwhelmingly the Shelli Segal... it's so pretty and the purple is so deep.  I think it has a bit more oomph than the other dress.  I think you can get your girls to work it with some awesome jewelry.  Maybe some sparkley chandeliere earrings and a blingin' bracelet?

I agree I love the color of #2.

I think you can dress it up with maybe a big necklace a fancy updo and some nice shoes!

I like the Calvin Kline one as I think it might look more flattering, being more fitted.  The other dress is a lot looser which always makes me look like I'm pregnant.

I don't think the second dress is too informal at all - it's silk. pair it with some good heels and you've got yourself a great bridesmaid dress. Both dresses are cute, but if the second is the color you're going for, I say go for it!

OMG I have a dress by Laundry from Nordstrom and I looooooooove it! I wore it this past November to my FH Marine Corps Ball. It's soooo elegant and the fabric feels amazing!! I like that one you have on here too! The color is so pretty too. However, are your BM's ok with spending a lot of money on it? My dress was very expensive almost $500.
