Since the wedding is so close, I would suggest looking at some department stores to see if they have anything close to what you originally ordered. Nordstrom's, Macy's J. Crew and JC Penney all have decent selection of dresses.
what dress are you looking for? Does it need to be a specific style or are you able to substitute a similar dress?
The bride wants us in After Six 6605 in Platinum. She is a really laid back bride so if I had to get a slightly different dress she might be okay as long as it's the same color.

I wont be getting my money back from my first dress order since they don't offer refunds.
so buying a whole brand new dress plus rush shipping to get it in time is a last resort.
Idealy I would love to buy a used dress in the same color, but of course that is a long shot.
I am looking into sending a complaint through the BBB and see what happense. I don't want to say the companies name outright - but they claim to be the largerst online bridal store and they are based in IL.
I am very upset with this company and I may just have waisted over a lot of money to not get something in time or if at all.
I hate that this is happening at all, but really I don't want to stress out the bride with this whole mess. I am hoping the dress just appears at my door step in the next week or two, but I am kinda thinking that wont be the case. :(

I'd call the bride and let her know what's going on and ask what she suggests. She might have an alternative, since it's NOT your fault and you did order it on time and everything.
Can you call the main office directly? sometimes you get further calling the main office than going through their 1-800 number...
I would talk to the bride about it now, rather than 2 weeks from now if it doesn't show. Then suggest to her your ideas of buying a dress in the same colour and see what route she would like you to take.
I'd say as the bride it would be worse to find out closer.

I am planning to talk to the bride today.
I did contact the head of the company via email in April. She wrote me back a short message that said the dress would be shipped to me by the end of April. Her reply back to me was litterally one sentence. She didn't give tracking or anything. I wrote her again late last week asking for more spacific info such as tracking or if my dress really was shipped to me at the end of April.... I haven't heard back.
I did find a dress on ebay that is in the same color, but it's a different fabric and style. I will suggest that to the bride and see what she thinks. Its not very exspensive since I think it is used, so it might be a good back up to just buy and have.
@Juliemd414: hmmmmm.... sometimes calling is better than emailing. I did that with UPS when they screwed up a shipping. It was a pain finding the number, but I managed it, lol. I've also managed to find the number to local UPS and FedEx offices.

ok, so house of brides has 50 complaints on the BBB website reguarding delivery alone.. Though that may not be a lot at all because of how much buisness they do..
Did you pay for a credit card? Could always involve them if you need to..
Keep trying to call - if anything, start the call in the morning, put it on speaker and just let it sit there. I just sat on hold with a phone provider for 30 minutes this morning for work. Went about my business and left it sitting. Dreading calling back in again, as they said they'd return my call by noon and it's now noon..
I did pay through paypal. However I looked into filing a complaint with them to get my money back. they only let you file within 45 days from your order. Its well over that now, so not sure what my options with that are.
I did sit with them on speaker for over an hour today... no joke. I think the BBB might be my best bet. They seem to at least try and resolve the complaints filed with the BBB.
Update: I finally got through to customer service - I found a new number hidden on their website and got through fast. However, I am no closer to knowing about my dress. The customer service person had no info on my order. He didn't know if it was even ordered from the desinger or not. He sent a request for info to someone and said I should hear back in the next two days.
Fingers crossed they get back to me .....and hopefully with good news. :)
I am not holding my breath though.....
if they don't send it to you and you paid for it that is called stealing lol. They can't keep your money. I ordered my dress Feb 1 (not from the same place) and it came in this week. So maybe give it one more week? Hope it all works out for you!
Update: I guess persistance pays off! I think I inquired into my order with every possible person I could both through email and phone.
I finally got word that my dress will be shipped out today!!
I am just happy I know my order status and that its on its way to me. :)

I ordered my bridesmaid dress from an online bridal company Feb 8th. I had ordered from them in the past and had good service and fast shipping.
It is now May 10th and I still do not have my dress. I called multipal times and never got through. I tried to leave a message, but the mailbox was full. I even stayed on hold with the customer service for 50 minutes before giving up. I also sent multipal email's to the customer service email.
Last time I ordered from them, I got email confirmations stating when my dress was ready and then when it shipped.
That is not the case this time. I am not sure what I should do..... The wedding is 6 weeks away!
I searched ebay for dresses for sale and posted a "looking" post here on weddingbee...
any other suggestions?
