I need some advice! Here is some background information… I am getting married 10-9-10 and have three girls in the party, my two sisters and my fiance’s sister. I am a super overzealous bride, self-admitted, and want to start shopping for dresses for my girls. My sisters complain that it is way too early… Is it? I know what I want and just figure we should go for it… Any thought?
Also, I am having trouble convincing them to even try stuff on! The one time we went shopping only my little sister would try anything on, and she only tried on one dress!! Tips, please!

I don’t think it is too early for you to be thinking about what you want. But, you may start looking and find dresses now that are going to be discontinued by the time you are ready to order your dresses.
You might look at some of the Jcrew/ann taylor sites and see what end up on sale this summer. That way, you will get GREAT deals for your wedding and have it checked off your list.

I would start looking, but I would advise against buying or ordering something now.
Not only may it go on sale, but so many new styles will come out in the next year- you find something you like better and regret purchasing so early.

I was really anxious to find bridesmaids dresses too – I thought it would really set up the whole look of the wedding! But, I know I put off shopping for my own wedding dress because I was afraid to try things on – I kept hoping I would lose weight and then I would feel better about dresses. Plus, it was intimidating to think that I was going into a store where nothing was anywhere near my size, and I would have to try it on in front of people. Your sisters probably feel the same way – it’s not always the most fun to shop for a dress when there are only sample sizes.
Keep a list of the ones you like and keep looking. I changed my mind about a million times about the styles I was interested in, so I’m glad I didn’t purchase right away.

There is nothing wrong with looking now, it would help ensure that everyone would know well ahead of time what the cost of the dress will be. I would wait to purchase until at least the beginning of next year because during that time you’ll likely change your mind several times like we all do! But, if you do find a dress you love, it will give you time to possibly get it on sale.
