try dessy...my dresses are watters, but bill levkoff was a close 2nd, and I've worn their dresses when I was a BM...to get ideas, you can start at houseofbrides.com, and that will let you know what price range you are peeking at...
Lynn Lugo has some gorgeous dresses! You can pick same fabric (many colors) and the b'maids can pick out different styles that would best suit them. Very cool site! I like them thus far.
ug...gee so expensive :| granted all of my bridesmaid are making a pretty good living, i'm not going to ask them to buy a dress that's more than maybe 100 bucks (which other than my wedding dress, i have never spent that much for a dress)... :| any more ideas?
too hard, all 4 live in different states to do department stores :( i looked at target but there's no nice dresses at the stores!
Mine isn't a very popular option, but we just asked everyone to wear something green (our color, obviously). It made for a very cool look- mixed up and random, but a common thread to pull it all together. This was a very atypical wedding of course and I recognize this doesn't work for most, but let the idea inspire you! Do all the bridesmaids have to have the same dress? Maybe keep the color and material the same but allow different cuts. I don't know. Just my 2 cents, thought I'd offer them:)
@superstar: if you do the shopping yourself, department stores aren't really that hard. especially since most of them take back anything as long as you have a receipt.
this is what I would do. ask your maids to either come to your place for the weekend or find another easy to get to location for you all to meet. before the weekend, go buy everything you can find in their sizes that you like. once you're all together have a big try on session. pick the one you like the best and return everything else.
the other thing to do is stalk the jcrew sales but you have to be careful with that b/c they don't take back sale items.
OH one more place...www.shabbyapple.com if you want short dresses. they have some cute stuff and their prices are great. They might be to casual for a wedding dependingon what type of wedding you are having but they can be dressed up with accessories.
