We bought the guys ties before getting the girls dresses (super cheaper, light blue silk ties). Now that the dresses are in, they don’t match (aparently I haven’t seen them together). Should we get the guys new ties, or just leave it? The ties are a sky blue and the dresses are supposed to be powder blue but my bm’s are saying they’re a bit purple.
The thing is I am red/green colour deficient so if the dresses are a bit purple, they will still look blue to me, will probably look fine to me with the ties.

As long as they dont clash – you are fine. Even if the dresses are purple i think you are sitll ok. Blue and purple look fine together. Will people think you ordered them from teh same company? No. But who cares?

I am having a similar problem. We also ordered the guys navy blue silk ties last year when tehy were on sale and figured it would be easy to match with navy dresses. I too haven’t seen them together but my mom noticed they are a bit off (the dresses are not silk) but says she thinks it will be fine. I have not decided what to do and am interested to see what responses you get. Sorry, I could not be more helpful, I guess it all comes down to how matchy you want everything to be. Good luck.

I think as long as they go together, no one will notice. Our guys actually wore a different color tie than our BM completely. Our wedding colors were black and gold and the gals had black dresses, while the guys had gold ties. I think as long as the colors go well together, no one will even notice!

they blend which is good. My BM dresses were custom made and they are champagne pink with champagne sashes….and the groom’s ties are a darker shade. More of a darker champagne. The sashes are LIGHT. It works!
Get ribbon the same color as the bridesmaid dresses to use on the boutteniers. Tada, matching! And you could use their tie colors for the bouquet wrapping. oooooo i love that idea.

A good photographer can always fix the color or the ties or dresses in photoshop in the final prints you select. Even if someone notices on the wedding day, no one will remember b/c selective editing of your pics changes history!
