What dresses have you chosen that work well for bridesmaids with a large bust? One of my best friends and bridesmaids is very busty and has a hard time finding dresses that fit well. She’s fairly small otherwise (she’s probably about a size 6 otherwise) and is petite. I want her to be comfortable and feel good about herself in the dress! I know she feels very self-conscious when she ends up in a dress that does not work well with her chest and I want to avoid that.
She tends to not speak up too much about getting her needs met, though she did tell me this much: “Neckline wise I do best with a more open neckline and like to avoid wide straps as well as short armpit holes (does that make sense)? Empire waists are tough with my boobs but some work (often there isn’t enough room and the seam ends up cutting across my boobs instead if under).”
I’ve been looking around and have some ideas, but it’s hard to tell when looking at dresses on models. Can anyone share specific designers/styles that worked for you or your bridesmaids? Thanks!

I have a busty bridesmaid too and I really want sweetheart strapless dresses but I want her to feel comfortable. She requested no strapless. She’s gravitating towards V necklines

not strapless or anything low cut. V necklines, not-lowcut sweetheart, and spaghetti or thin straps work well, or the dressed with only one shoulder.
Also- armpit holes can be altered by a seamstress (within reason) for fairly cheap, so keep that in mind. The last wedding I was in I had to take down the armpit holes an inch each. I’m not especially busty but I am thin with broad shoulders, which for some dresses causes issues.
I was in a wedding recently with 2 girls with large busts, and I swear they pulled this dress off amazing (http://www.dessy.com/dresses/bridesmaid/2858/#.VByDDDYZ4RA), I hated wearing it, but mostly because the bride made us wear an AWFUL color. The necline may work for your bridesmaid as well.

im a sz 4 with 32GG boobs so i guess im busty. I wore a 1 shoulder dress like the one pictured. It was made for me by an etsy seller…all i had to do was provide my measurements.
I didnt wear a bra and it had boning.

I’m busty, and I always prefer classic v-necks with straps, but really anything with straps is a massive improvement over strapless. I was in a wedding last Saturday, and I STILL have bruises on my ribcage from the weight of my bust pushing into the boning on my strapless bra. It’s been a painful week wearing bras at work.
My favorite look is something like this, so I can still wear a regular bra. But, she really just needs to try some on and see if they work.
I also tried this one on at DB, and liked it, but it was vetoed by the bride:( http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Sleeveless-Chiffon-Dress-with-Ruffled-Back-Detail-F15530_Bridal-Party-Bridesmaids-Long-Bridesmaid-Dresses
Thank you for keeping her in mind!

Alexia Designs 4148 worked well for the wedding I was in recently. We all wore the same dress and had varying cup sizes, from B – DDD (The DDD being the slimmest girl). For some reason the short version is the only one on the website, but since we just wore them in July, they should be available
But it was basically this dress with a little less ruching and way less cleavage (pic from Eden Bridesmaids).
