Okay so me being VERY indecisive it took me a while to make my color choices for the wedding but when I saw Davids Bridal latte with blush pink accents I LOVED it!! It was exactly what I wanted.
So I took the girls to the salon I had been wedding dress shopping and they all tried on different dresses. They ended up liking this one by Bill Levkoff ( looks MUCH better in person)
I also took them to Davids Bridal so they didn’t feel they had to pay a certain price at this salon. Aside from that I knew DB had the color I wanted but to be honest, Im not a fan of the store. So they tried on dresses and to them nothing compared to the Bill Levkoff so they wanted to go back and order it. Awesome.
Then the consultant asked me what color we were going with. EEEKK I hadn’t even thought to see what my options were before they fell in love with this dress. So I was shown a book of swatches to pick from. I ran out to my car and got my wedding bible and showed them the DB latte and from that we chose the Euro Latte.
Fast forward a couple weeks. I took my mom to show her my top picks of wedding dresses and she asked to see the BM dresses we chose. The consultant pulled the sample which was black and then went to get a dress in the Euro Latte. She came back and I freeeaked! That was not the color I wanted at all!!
Here is a couple different DB latte and then Bill Levkoff’s Euro Latte
Yes I realize they’re very similar but the Euro Latte has more green to it, it looks more bronze than brown. I realize that the material will certainly change the look which is my other issue. The dress they chose was satin and partly because the dress I thought I was getting was satin as well. WELL I’m not getting that dress now so is it going to look ridiculous for them to be all shiny and me not? UGGGH What did I do????
I’m seriously freaking. I”m just bummed, it was the one thing I KNEW I wanted and didn’t need others input on, I loved the muddy brown and I don’t want to look back at my pictures upset that it wasn’t what I had planned for so long.

@vicozzie: has anybody else had their dresses turn out a different color than expected??????

I don’t think it’s really that bad. You’re not going to match every shade exactly perfectly anyway. The difference here is so minimal! You’re just stressing yourself out unnecessarily. And even if you’re not in satin, it’s a classic dress that will go with whatever you wear. It’s still going to match your overall color scheme and look gorgeous, and it sounds like your ladies really like the dress, too. It’s going to be OK!

I agree with @Amaryllis:. To me it almost looks like the difference in colors is because they are different materials. No one will notice or care if their material is different from the material in your dress. To be honest, I think the color of the BL dress will be a lot more flattering on a lot of different skin tones than the DB dress.
If it is something that really bothers you, would you be able to cancel the order at the bridal salon and place a new order with Davids Bridal?

Honestly, the colors are not that different. When I read the title of this thread I was thinking something drastic, like you ordered blue dresses and they came in red. Don’t stress about it!

I think I like the “wrong” color better.

Agreed with PP that the color you chose is better.

@SFreeman2187:I agree. The “wrong” color is much more stunning imo!

I think it will look great. I agree, the difference is mostly because it’s shiny. But it is very lovely and still very cafe latte.

@BeSeeingYou: Sorry I had to do a personal reply to this one cuz it really put a smile on my face. I’m sorry my drama wasn’t so dramatic! 🙂 My lord what would I have done if I had gotten red instead of blue! Lol, I realize they’re very close but I’m a detail freak so I notice it a lot.
To the rest of you THANK YOU I know I stress myself out so easily it’s pathetic. Funny because when I looked at the pictures in this post I too thought they were very close in color.
I’m pretty sure it would be too late to change since the order was submitted a few weeks ago. I will live with it and I’m trying sooo hard to be a go with the flow kind of bride but this is a once in a lifetime deal so I want it to be exactly what I wanted.
I’ll get over it

Personally, I like the “wrong” color better. I think it has a little more depth to it than the DB one and will look better with a variety of skin tones. BUT I know exactly how you feel- I had to pick the marine color at DB without ever seeing it on the dress we were ordering and it made me nervous.
I think the wedding will be perfect no matter what color dresses the girls wear 🙂 Just watch 27 Dresses and remember how hideous some of those were, and then tell yourself that it’s not the dresses you remember, but the fun you have 🙂

@BelleoftheNorth: Awww thank you so much! I”ve been meeting to watch 27 dresses one of these days, lol. I’m glad the majority seem to like the wrong color better. I’m learning to just deal with it. It’s not what I wanted but once it all comes together I’m hoping I’ll be okay with it all.
By the way, when I first got engaged, I was considering the marine color, I love it!
