I guess my problem is that I keep seeing all the same ideas and I want something different! :)
I'm getting all my girls monogrammed robes.
Where in Nashville are you getting married? I used to live there!
The robes are a cute idea...where are you getting them from? Our ceremony is at Benton Chapel on Vanderbilt's campus and our reception is at Country Music Hall of Fame.
I'm either ordering them online (theknot has some) or going to a store in Murfreesboro called Too Cute! They have them in different shades of pastel at that store. The ones on theknot are white. My mom saw them in the different colors and said it was adorable!
I'm doing chocolate velour suits (kinda like juicy sweat suit but not juicy brand) with their nickname on the back bedazzled... I've always wanted to do this! Figured we could get ready in them and then change into them at the end of the reception so we can really dance and also wear them for the hotel after party! :)
I think I posted this on another post . . . My favorite bridesmaid gift that I have ever received was a personalized bath wrap.

She got everyone the girl's size in large and it fits perfectly.
I would do these for my BMs if 2 of them hadn't purchased their own after seeing mine :)
I am giving each of them a black thin scarf, a black clutch purse, a little day-of survival kit, a vintage handkerchief to go with our semi-vintage-inspired theme, and bangles bracelets. My notecard on the outside said, "Something vintage, something new, and lots of something usefuls, too!"
If I had more time and wasn't busy, you know, planning the wedding (ha), I would've probably knit something.
Silver engraved jewellry box? I know they do them here in the UK but I'm sure you can find them in the US too - a bit of something different to a more traditional gift.
Do you want them all to have the same/similar things? If that's not so important to you, I wouldn't get so caught up in having it be a "bridesmaid" gift, and just shop for them as if it's their birthday! That might take some pressure off you to find the perfect "bridesmaid" gift. If you DO want them all to be similar/match in some way, I love the idea of robes or personalized sweats that they can wear while they're getting ready. Another cute idea is getting them necklaces or earrings with their birthstone.
I got my bridesmaids capes to wear in the cold weather. I also made hairpieces for each of them.
We might be doing Flip video camcorders. We're definitely getting them for the groomsmen, but they we thought about it, and realized the bridesmaids might be jealous when the guys get Flip videos, and they just get pashminas or some jewelry... so now the girls are probably getting Flip videos too!
Thanks everyone! Maybe I am stuck in the label of "bridesmaid gifts". I think I will shop more for the individual and see if that helps!
Springbride, do you have a price range you need to stay in?
Love the Flip idea--so much fun! I'd love to get somethig fun and useful like that--plus they could use it to record some priceless moments at the reception/after party!
