So I’m aware this is a common subject, but after lots of searching I feel like every bridesmaid gift is the same cheesy stuff. I’ve thought of a few unique ideas, and would love your opinions!
My first idea was to do hand painted wine glasses, and pair it with a bottle of wine with a clever label, like they have the “bitch”and “mad house wife” brands, and I would match each girl to a wine with her personality. OR my other idea was to get them certificates for outings personalized to them, for instance cooking lessons, rock climbing, yoga classes. My only concern is that they won’t have something tangable to open at the rehersal dinner when the groomsmen open theirs(bobble heads). Which one would you rather receive? They will also be getting jewerly to wear the day of. Thanks for your opinions!

I love the idea of certificates to activities that they each like. I don’t think it will matter that it’s not a physical gift. If I got a certificate for cooking classes or Pilates classes I’d be stoked. 🙂

I think the certificates sound great! And the girls would still have something to open if you did those and the jewelry like you said. I’m sure you could find a creative way to wrap the certificates or just wrap up the jewelry and give it to them at your rehearsal dinner.

I bought these cute totes that I am decorating about each girls. I got them all something different depending on the girl. Four of them are getting coach wristlets, based on the colors they love. One is getting a bridesmaid wine class with some of her favorite wine, and my MOH is probably getting a big gift certificate to DSW becuase she loves shoe shopping! In each tote I am going to include some day of stuff, like a pair of flip flops and toiletries that might be helpful as the day goes, a bottle of water, and little things like that. Maybe you could do the activity certificate along with like a day of kit, that way they got the outting, plus a little something extra. Dollar store has tons of things you can get for these!

I heard of a bride giving their BMs personalized magazine subscriptions for a few years of their favorite magazine. I thought that was unique and a wonderful gift that keeps giving.

I shopped for good deals. I’m having a beach wedding so they get the following: Beach Bag, a embroidered beach towel (starfish and the wedding date), silver sandals (for ceremony), pearl tear-drop earrings (can wear for the wedding, but don’t have to), and a silver wristlet. The MOH also got a pearl broach.

I do like the idea of having some sort of “personalized” gift in there, along with some others that are for all. Here’s what I have done so far:
– Old Navy flip-flips for the reception (in gold, since our colors are black and gold)
– Photo album from Target with pictures of my friend, myself, and our group/common friends/family (obviously, each one is different). I am really liking this one a lot! All of my friends love pictures, I am always the one with the camera, and Snapfish has an awesome deal right now (200 prints for $2).
I’m tossing around a few other ideas, too. I keep going back and forth between a personalized make-up bag, Coach wristlet, and monogrammed tote bag. I want to get them a Starbucks gift card (since there’s a Starbucks in the hotel lobby), jewelry, and something else…I really love shopping!
I really like your gift card idea. I would be really excited to get something like that as a bridesmaid’s gift! You could get a cute little box or water bottle or something to put it in. This way, it will seem a bit more tangible.
