I am an eBay-a-holic, so that’s where I purchased everything for my BMs. I bought them jewelry to be worn for the wedding, personalized totes, engravable compact mirrors and a candle. I believe that all together, these items came to less than $30 per BM, which is AWESOME because we are on a tight budget. We are buying pilsner glasses for the groomsmen and I am sure those will also be purchased on eBay for $30 for a set of 4. We will also give the groomsmen something small that is personal and meaningful to them. You can spend whatever amount you feel comfortable spending. I know others will spend more because they can afford more.

I’m probably at $150 per bridesmaid and that may go up to $200 once I’ve taken them out for a bridesmaid luncheon and if I add in professional hair and make-up.  Originally it would have been less (I have fun totes filled with goodies) and also bought the dresses.  Unfortunately once I covered the dresses the other girls decided I should cover shoes, etc. So to avoid drama I went along with it and have spent more than we planned.

We are not giving the groomsman a specific gift but are covering their tux rentals, which is about $140 per person.

At the wedding I was in, we all got Avon jewelry for the wedding (earrings and necklace), and a mini spa kit. The bride also paid for my hair. The groomsmen got personalized beer mugs. It really depends on your budget. As far as showers go, I’ve thrown several and always got something simple: candles, lotions, simple jewelry.

I had a friend give her bridesmaids some Mary Kay makeup. She bought a variety of shades of eyeshadow and lipstick and told her ladies to use it to get ready and then take it home! It worked out really well and I thought it was really sweet. She also did gifts of mugs and candles and some tea mixes.

I will probably spend about $50-75, if I can afford it.

I was thinking just one gift for the BMs…a Tiffany’s necklace.  It has 6 hearts, I was thinking to tell them it represented US and the 4 bridesmaids in my wedding party

necklace

Plus were purchasing the bridal parties clothes.  Were having a destination wedding in Aruba and its the least we could do!  Not sure about the groom men’s gifts yet.

We bought them Indian outfits for the Friday evening Sangeet (~$200 ea).  I also gave them gifts of about $50 each.  I did not ask them to get hair or make-up done (only my SIL did in the end).  They did buy their own dresses, though I let them pick their cut and they were all under $150 so hopefully not too painful.  I offered to help anyone who needed it, but they all earn more than I do so that was unlikely…

I am trying to buy each person in my bridal party a personal gift. Maybe for the girls I will get them all the same tote, but include things I know each one will like. My bridal party is such a mix of different personalities it would be impossible to pick one gift for all. I hope to spend less then $150 each.

I’m planning on making my bridesmaid’s jewelry and finding or making a cute clutch they can use again. Other than that, I’m not sure. I have 6 bridesmaids so I can’t afford to spend too much. For my sister’s weddings we covered the cost of getting their hair done, but they also had fewer bridesmaids.
