Which would you prefer? I was orginially thinking of getting my 5 girls an ipod shuffle in different colors with their name engraved on it, but then I fell in love with these Coach wallets! Both options are almost exactly the same price.
What do YOU think?
I would love either gift, but I chose the brown wallet, very cute. I also like the idea about the shuffle, only thing is what if the girl's already have one? Just a thought. Great ideas though.
Maybe wallet? I would think a lot of people nowadays already have one or more version of iPod and all the accessories that come with it. (Unless u know they don't) If you get them engraved, they also probably cannot return them for something else if they already have something similar in function.
I always love me different wallets. I like the gold one but that's just me.
So many people have one or more i-pods that I voted for the wallet :)
Veronica--Yeah, that was what caused me to keep shopping. I think most people have one, but I am not sure. Honestly, I have 3 ipods and I use them use for different things---I'm sure my friends would too. I also don't typically love Coach things, but these caught my eye because they're even prettier in person. Also they're a GREAT steal....
this is a hard one. on the one hand, i think wallets and purses are very tricky to buy for people because they are very personal. for instance, although aesthetically i really like those wallets you chose, i wouldn't use either of them because I have certain details/features i like in wallets that those don't have.
on the other hand, as many people pointed out, most people already have ipods these days. I think if you know for sure that your girls don't have ipod shuffles, then go with those. if they do, go with the wallet, (in which case i like the gold one better).
@Meowkers--This is so true! My mom said the same thing...she is very picky about her wallet. I am certain that 4 of the 5 girls are NOT wallet-particular, but there's one I am unsure of! Hmm yikes... tricky.

i voted for the wallet only because im anti-apple and refuse to own an ipod :) lol and plus most people who want them have them... people can always use coach :)
@spaganya--ANTI APPLE? Oh gosh, in my house those words would be illegal!!! We are a mac-family, for sure. 2 mac desktops, 3 mac laptops, and 5 ipods between the two of us! (you can throw an HP laptop in that mix too!) lol. Why are you anti-apple?! I am super curious!
Honestly, I don't like Coach product with the little C's on them. I have a solid leather Coach ID thing that holds all my credit cards, so I don't even use a purse most of them time and instead clip my keys to my wallet and carry it like a skater wallet.
But I already own an ipod that I never use. By never, I mean I don't even know where it is and I haven't updated it in like, two years (I don't really care about music).
I guess what I'm TRYING to say is that neither of these are really appealing to me...
@KMSULL--hahah, I agree about a lot of the Coach products! I have a purse or two of theirs that are NOT filled with C's and I do love then for that reason. But I love this wallet (I have the gold one) and get compliments on it all the time. :) And it's cool you aren't into either, thanks for the honesty! What are you getting your girls? I'm always open to other options.
I just don't like logo-ified things, so I voted for the ipod.
Ha ha ha ha I was dreading tha question! I'm still trying to figure it out, honestly. All my girls are such different people and totally not into the same thing AND are all at different stages of life that there isn't a present that I could give all of them that would make sense!
I know this doesn't sound fun but have you thought about paying/subsidizing their dresses, shoes, hair, or make up. I have talked to several girls who have been bridesmaids many times, and they appreciate it most when their dress is paid for or subsidized.
@KM--yeah it's not easy. I am not into giving wedding-y gifts to our wedding party and I am letting the girls choose their own jewelry too. I know that the girls would love either of these, so I guess it doesn't really matter which I end up choosing. It's all about knowing your girls really well. It took me awhile to narrow down the search though, that's for sure!
@Pren79--I am paying for their hair and make up already! And their hotel rooms for 2 nights! hehe. They all ordered their dresses already and they were less than $200. But I agree, it is nice to help out with the wedding costs for sure!
I voted for the wallet - I already have an iPod nano and an iPhone (and most people I know have some kind of mp3 player or iPod) so while its a great idea, your BMs might not have use for it. (However - I'd check and see if you can do some snooping and find out!)
@virginiamarie - i refuse to buy anything from apple... ever LOL. i have worked with apples and they are just too restrictive for me. i like to do programming and personalize things and build my own stuff - too many controls on apple related products for my taste. and specifically with ipod - i dont like all the bs the put in their programs - i cant even share music with my FH even though we bought it, but just downloaded it on his ipod first without having to crawl thru 293423 hoops to do it. my sony mp3 player on the other hand? plug and play no problem.
also mind you i would have all computers using only linux if i had the time to do everything i wanted with my computers! so that might make a difference. heres a graphic for you *winks* i had a friend send this to me and i laughed for hours....
Honestly, I'd go with the shuffle. If they already have an ipod then they can use the shuffle for the gym or house cleaning or whatever they do. Are you getting the new shuffles? I actually prefer the clippy one to the new one. Seriously, you just can't have too many ipods :) I fall into the picky about my wallet category. Those wallets are super cute (my fav is the gold) and I would probably use it for date nights, but it's a little too small for everyday use for me. My wallet is often mistaken for a clutch :)
oh and if it were up to me i would vote for helping out with wedding costs or maybe a spa day for everyone before hand? im also kinda picky with my posessions but either way - whatever you get them its the thought that counts. at least its useable. i had a bride get me earrings once. pierced earrings... and i dont have pierced ears... :)
@Spag--HAHAH thanks for the graphic! I'm choosing NOT to show it to FI (he's primarily the obsessive Mac person, I just go along for the ride)! I had a lot of trouble initially switching from PC to Mac, but I don't do any of the programming you talked about so I wouldn't know the difference! EDIT: thanks for the input, I am paying for their 2 night hotel stay, hair and make up! But not dress. And pierced earrings for a non-pierced BM? WOW---super inconsiderate.
@virginamarie - yeah i have a Mac obsessed friend of mine that was none too happy with that graphic - but programmers understand. i honestly think thats why windows vista failed miserably - alot of the newer stuff they added to vista was to make it more like Mac type systems - PC users revolted LOL
dont get me wrong Mac serves its function and as long as EVERYTHING you do is Mac, and you kinda stick with that theme, you are golden, but you definately cant mix and match! :)
and yeah, i was nice enough not to say anything and those babies went on ebay to pay for some of my wedding dress cost as soon as i got home. *shaking my head*
I voted for the gold coach wallet, because it's something I would like to have if I were a bridesmaid.
Shuffles so they can create their own thing. A wallet anyone can buy.
I have an ipod and would never have any use for a shuffle. So wallet - I prefer the gold.
I don't know . . . I feel like if a friend of mine paid for my hair, make-up and 2 nights at the hotel, that would be gift enough for me.
@spaganya -- Really? I LOVE my Mac b/c it's inherently a Unix platform, and it is SO easy to program on my Mac laptop. My order of preference for computer operating systems goes Mac, Linux....... PC.
My order of preference for BM gifts is Coach wallet (love the brown one!) over ipod shuffle, b/c I think most people already will have an ipod, so they probably won't use the shuffle too much.
UPDATE--Ok! It's done. I bought 3 brown wallets and 3 gold ones :) I know they're something that my girls will enjoy, and probably wouldn't have bought for themselves. Phew, so glad that's done! Thanks for the input.
Good choice! I'm going with a coach wallet as well, only I'm getting them at the coach outlet to save some moo-la!
I went with the brown coach wallet. I also have a nano that I use for everything and wouldn't be sure what I would use the shuffle for. I guess I could use it separately for running, but not everyone runs. My vote is definitely the brown coach wallet!
i choose the coach wallet but im also obsessed with coach!!! lol! anytime i mention coach my FI says "NO!" lol! when i jokingly asked him if i could have the $800 coat i saw on their website he looked at me and said yeah you can have it.....you just have to choose between the coat or your wedding dress. sadly i considered it for about 30 sec! i know i know...im horrible! lol!
Most people already have some sort of iPod or other music player. But, can I vote for my own made up third option? i think most people have an ipod...but no one could refuse that wallet!
