I planned on taking my bridesmaids to lunch to formally ask them to be my bridesmaids with a cookie dress that says, “Will you be my bridesmaid?” and to give the girls a chance to get to know each other a little better….Now after talking to this lady at Hallmark, she tells me this is kinda silly because they will never see each other again after the wedding and that I was not supposed to have a luncheon until closer to the wedding…I just thought it would be something nice I could do for them and it could be fun too. Now, I’m having second thoughts?!?! Maybe I should just give them their cookie one on one and not do a luncheon….?

I like the lunch idea, but what if they can’t be bridesmaids for some reason? Maybe you can ask them first and then all do lunch on a day when you plan to pick out dresses, or shop for your own, or something else wedding related. Anyway, it’s definitely sweet and thoughtful and not silly at all.

Do it! If it’s something you were/are excited about, you should do it, and screw what the random Hallmark lady thinks. Who knows? They might become friends, and WANT to see each other after the wedding. You’re doing something nice for them…if I could have had all my BMs in one room before my wedding, I would have been thrilled! Enjoy!

its not silly its sweet – but the lady has a point – i would ask them before hand and have a “thank you luncheon” like usual.
