I’m getting married in October, and have 6 bridesmaids. I’m the first to get married and have never been a bridesmaid myself – so I’ve never been to a Bridesmaid Luncheon.
I’m clueless and wouldn’t even know that such a thing existed if it weren’t for photos I’ve seen of other Bridesmaid or Best Man Luncheons.
– What is this event?
Is anyone besides the BMs attend?
When does it happen? Morning of the wedding or during the wedding weekend, or far in advance?
What happens? Do I give them their gifts then, rehearsal dinner, or after the wedding?

I always thought this was something nice for the bride to do for her girls, not a necessity – just because you see photos doesn’t mean you have to do it as well 🙂 If you want to take your bridesmaids out for lunch (or any other meal) to say thanks for all their hard work, that would be lovely. I imagine giving them their gifts then would make sense too, unless you decide to do that at the rehearsal dinner with the rest of the bridal party. Maybe your mother/others would be involved, if it made sense to you and your group, but maybe not. I didn’t do this but the day before the wedding we did go out for lunch with those of our bridal party who had already arrived at the venue, it was fun and a good way to people to meet each other.

I think it is a way to treat your girls out to a nice little lunch, also a good time to where you can give them their bridesmaids gifts. It is just a way of thanking them for being a part of the wedding planning process and your even altogether.
