Has anyone had their bridesmaids carrying pomanders/kissing balls? Or seen any good pictures of this? I’m a bridesmaid in a wedding where the bride is considering this but we’re not sure how it’s going to look…mostly only finding pictures of flower girls, and the few bridesmaid pictures we’ve found are all outdoor weddings (the ceremony will be in a very traditional-looking church…wooden pews, stained glass, etc).

I don’t think it would look bad. We used one for our flower girl and it was really pretty. I’ll attach a picture of it. The only thing is it can be awkward to carry compared to a bouquet.

I was in a wedding where we had tocarry pomanders and they were beautiful, but heavy, ackward to carry, hung right by us girls croutches, and the ribbon around it dug into all our skin. I’ve been in several wedding and I found that with the pomanders you have a lot less ability to move a little bit if needed.. its hanging down and you don’t want it to touch against your dress.. overrall.. it will be tough to make them better than a bouquet…
Find flowers and have the arrangement done so they are not heavy at the least bit
Have the ribbon at a good length.. so people are looking at the flowers and also starring at the girls…..
Make sure the fabric u use as the handle is soft so it doesn’t cut into the girls skin and leave a mark….
I think they are cute and more suitable for a flower girl/junior bridesmaid. Or just for decoration

I’m considering white pomanders to go with my BM’s black and pink dresses. My reasoning is that the pomander will fall lower than the sash line.

i agree about the “awkward to carry” part……. nobody really knows how to hold them and you have to hold them out a bit so they don’t bump into your dress as you walk…… i’ve only been to one wedding where they carried them and they didn’t look like they were comfortable with them……

Read my 1st reply/post regarding Bridesmaid or Best Man carring the “kissing balls” that is 3 post above this.I forgot to add pictures to it so here are some pictures I have from the wedding I where I carried the pomander style flower “bouquets”.
See how all the girls are holding them differently? I kept moving mine from one hand to the other for comfort reasons (i’m second closest to the bride) and look at the 2nd to the left Bridesmaid or Best Man..you can barely see hers! And ceremony wasn’t long..30mins about.
By The Way, how adorable is the Flower Girl dress? I helped my neice pic it out!! SO ADORABLE..she looks like she’s 5 or 6 but she’s 10 in this pic!
Def. not good in pic. photographer and us didn’t know the best way to hold them…junior Bridesmaid or Best Man on the right standing, they hand her hold it like 5 different ways and this came out the best.. and it still looks odd.
